It's frustrating me, because I went from a LG to the Moto and now I keep banging on the screen all the time. Nova launcher supports a screen tap gesture for app launching, but only functions once the phone is awake and screen has been unlocked.

-Nexus 5x
-Moto g4+
-one+X
It will take care of most of your needs.
If you can opt for latest Xiaomi mi5s, it is best with latest of hardware and reasonable price ( nearly same as Nexus and one+ tags). Xiaomi UI is light compared to Samsung and others. Has good ram management too.
Nexus is pure android, Moto nearly pure android.

After doing months of research, I just bought the Moto G4 32 GB version and it meets all my expectations. It is fast, has a big, bright screen, great battery life and plenty of storage. Also runs on Marshmallow....Android latest operating system. Would buy it again and recommend it to a friend.

Bought G4 2 days ago and had ghost touch at first charging (many complaints on lenovo site that turbo charging is to blame). I could not use the phone when charging. Got a replacement yesterday with a charger that looks the same however, now the phone will be completely charged in ...6 hours.
