bought this phone a few days back
very nice, solid built, smooth operation (no lag), dual sim ( both 4G),
overall a great budget phone, with all necessary features. i hope it gets android N update
only function missing is LED notification

In the beginning of the article they clearly wrote that no update will be available for those chips which don't have Vulkan drivers. Then check how it looks for Snapdragon 410 which is used in Moto G4 Play. It has Adreno 306 GPU and entire Adreno 300 series is not supported.

It clearly says all moto devices would get update of android 7 AND THAT INCLUDES MOTO G4 PLAY (read the list carefully)

this device is good but the big problem is this that gorilla glass protection is not avilable ,,,,,,, this is is a big problem ..... if company selling this this device in 8999 rs so its need to protect wioth gorilla glass.............

dont give any wrong information ,, this device is a nice device in this price,, camera quality is very fine look likes as 16 mp camera,,slim device,,, battery backup with battery saver mode...

Moto G4 Play is built on Snapdragon 410 (same as Moto E LTE 2gen) and its GPU is on Vulkan's blacklist. That mean G4 Play won't get update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Just check by yourself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vulkan_(API) entire Adreno 300 series is unsupported!
