Anonymous, 04 Jan 2025how is it possible that this lower model G75 with a basic I... moreeveryone has different needs. For me, i prefer a very long software support and a military grade protection ( it seams that curved displays are very fragile). I am fine with an ips (mostly if it has 1000 nits). I dont use wireless charging but hey, none is perfect.

how is it possible that this lower model G75 with a basic IPS display is significantly more expensive (by 30$) than the highest of the series G85, which has curved OLED display?
and whats more such an imbalance of parameters... IPS display, 200g weight, but you get wifi7e and long support...
it's clear on which model Motorola is betting on

it sucks that in some regions only the 2 sim card version available and no e-sim version.

also people made me hesitant about the screen and pwm dimming issue / flickering some say it's so bad some say that didn't even notice it.

Don't give us radio but a Headphones jack instead. and rest are good things but I still skeptical about Android updates + Moto reputation about it is very horrible..also how the budget processor can handle it?

Off course reception superb, where my iphone cant get signal, motorola get 4/5 bars, this is the telco legend, motorola is the first intoduced cryztalk to filter noice sound

-, 29 Dec 2024According to Motorola's business website, this phone h... more4GB version doesn't make sense. With all the apps I got running the phone uses between 5 and 6 GB RAM pretty much all the time. If it had any less than 8 GB it would bottleneck the performance. It's why I leave the V ram switched on to the smart option which by default allocates 4 GB of the internal storage to V ram just in case I need more but in very heavy situations it can allocate up to 8 GB. I don't recommend buying a 4 GB version if one exists at all.

According to Motorola's business website, this phone has a 4GB RAM variant for countries that are not Brazil.

So I bought this phone about a week ago and will share my impressions so far:
Build quality seems solid for an all plastic phone. Back panel and frame have a matt finish so doesn't smudge easily.

Feel in hand is not very good though. My hands are not small but it's an unnecessarily large phone and with a typical all flat design it would be the most uncomfortable phone for one hand use if it wasn't for the a55 that I experienced. For comparison the a55 is a bit smaller but edges are much sharper and the back is glossy so it immediately feels nasty in your hand. I've had glossy phones but there is something about that smasung finish that gives me the yucks.

Volume and power buttons feel cheap and kind of noisy.

The LCD display is a pretty good effort. Brightness is impressive for a non oled screen and content looks good considering it's a 1080 and near as makes no difference 6.8 inches. Also the adaptive refresh rate seems to work well and will switch between 45, 60, 90 and 120 which is a nice touch. Also I want to point out I have no problem with displays hurting my eyes so can't vouch if this is a good or bad display where dimming and eye comfort features are concerned. It's fine for me.

The audio is at best a mixed bag. You get a lot of audio features with the dolby atmos support, however no software can compensate for hardware. The phone speakers have no base to speak of and the rest of the sound stage is average at best. With TWS buds on - I have tested it with my Huawei freebuds 5i and SE 2. Both pairs sound great on my p50 pro but to make them sound how they normally sound on the moto I figured out the dolby software needs to be completely off. It seems that software makes earbuds sound terrible at least to my ear. Lows get weak and highs go harsh essentially. I have a couple of edifier buds too which I've not tested but I don't expect any difference.

Performance feels good for what the phone is with the 6 gen 3. I don't know if it is because the software is optimised or because it is pretty bare bones but regardless it is quick and there are no stutters. As a downside - there is too much reliance on google apps and I feel like apps restart a bit more often than I'd like when you re-open them or take a second longer to load. It's not to untolerable level though. For a budget device it's as good a performance as any phone. Animations are fast and fluid, have not felt the need to fiddle with them in dev options.

                                  Gaming - I don't do mobile gaming so don't know, don't care.

Battery life - It's good. Not bad not great. Gets me through a day unless I am binging youtube for hours. Netflix on wifi though - it sips fuel as they say. Browsing and social media are handled alright. Should be decent for most people. Again - can't say about gaming. It doesn't charge really quick so if you had a Huawei or an honor or a xiaomi before you might be irritated. If you had a western phone like samsung pixel or iphone - you are used to crap charging speeds already so going from 25w to 30w might even feel like an upgrade :D. Also they throw in a 15w wireless at this budget device which is a nice back up in case your charging port ever goes bad.

Cameras are ok(ish). With enough light you can get some serviceable photos for social media but not much more. Zooming anything beyond the 1X before or after the photo doesn't look good. Either it doesn't have enough detail or it oversharpens to compensate, or both and the results are not great. You can snap some selfies and photos of your cat just fine but don't expect a camera phone. I will say that I have tried very briefly a few snaps with moto edge 50 neo and results were similar so maybe it's a moto thing maybe it's a cheap phone thing I can't be certain. I will not judge too harshly since I am coming from a p50 pro and I am used to much much better camera hardware and software.

Oh I almost forgot but connectivity seems pretty decent. Easily got over 500mbps on both wifi and 5g and I took a 450km bus trip a few days ago and reception was good. Felt like it was better than expected even in the areas with bad reception on that route. Call quality is fine though Huawei this phone isn't so I don't expect amazing microphones. Still, it's got what I think is a noise cancelling microphone on the side of the frame making a total of 3 mics which is impressive at this price point.

Overall - decent phone. Most of it is a fairly budget ordeal but they've sprinkled some higher end features(ip68, AF on the ultrawide, 3 mics, above average connectivity, wireless charging) not available on most budget blowers so if you can live with the drawbacks pointed here, it will serve you well but ergonomics and below average sound or something else might put you off.
