Anonymous, 03 Feb 2025no oled, no buy.Oled screen is a killer for your eyesight. Perhaps you are very young and don't realize it. But time will pass, your eyesight will deteriorate and you will remember these words. OLED damages your eyesight in any case, always and everyone, even if you don't feel it. Remember this.
Take care of your eyes, use IPS screens.

Lack of oled is it’s advantage. But does it flicker on mid and low brightness as always or motorola finally made full true dc dimming?

Silver.77, 29 Jan 2025For anyone who bought the eco leather one or used this type... moreI have the eco (or "vegan") leather version. Yes I think it will hold up well and it does feel good in the hand too. I ordered my G75 direct from Motorola and ordered the standard black plastic version - they sent me this instead. I wouldn't have chosen a faux leather back instead of plastic but I'm pleasantly surprised. That said, my phone is often in it's transparent case so the back is protected and so I may as well be carrying around the plastic back version.

I have a light blue phone, very lovely colour😍Btw i got a security update today, but still on Android 14. A15 has to come soon i think.

                    Which day launch in india

For anyone who bought the eco leather one or used this type of material before how future proof is it? Does it hold up well or will it wear out sooner than the plastic one? And how does it feel in hand is it better than normal plastic?

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2025Does this phone play 4k videos on youtube? It's non HD... moreyes, 4k 60fps but since it is not hdr certified I think it will play only sdr version of video on youtube app. I also tried 8k video, but it is dropping like 90% of the frames, so 4k 60fps max I guess

I have some great headphones that I love but they are only 3,5mm. I'll write an update here. But I have budget in-ear bluetooth headphones and on my old mobile, I had issues with audio dropping like 30% of the time, especially when I had a hand in the same pocket as my phone (redmi 9t). And also they were very quiet even on max. volume. With this phone, the same headphones play noticeably louder and never dropped any audio so far (but I only used them like 3-4 hours this week). But I have high hopes, because apparently g75 supports a lot of bt audio codecs so maybe the adapter will be fine too

Can we trust moto with the 5 years of android upgrades?

Mxxl, 26 Jan 2025My review after 1 week of using the phone: negatives: - c... moreas I wrote the review, I was feeling suspicious about my battery discharge, it looked off that I use phone like 20 minutes and get from 70% to 65% (if it was iPhone, sure, but on this phone it felt wrong). So I tried to solve "issues" with the battery and it looks like I did it. By default, battery protection against full charge (will charge your phone only to 80% and then once a week to 100%) was on and since I got the phone, I only charged it to the 80% (was willing to wait until it automatically charge to 100% but again, battery consumption felt wierd). So I looked at my Accubattery reports:
1st ever charge: 8% to 81% (est. capacity 4600 mAh),
                                  2. charge: 6% to 81% (est. cap. 4850 mAh),
                                  3. charge: 34% to 79% (e.c. 4939 mAh),
                                  4. charge: 26% to 81% (e.c. 4700 mAh),
                                  5. charge 9% to 81% (e.c. 4624 mAh).
(I skipped few partial charges here and also note that
after these 5 charges I posted review about the battery). Estimated capacity for brand new phone was disappointing so I decided to restart the phone, turn screen to 60Hz mode only and charge battery to 100%. I charged from 2% to 100%, estimated capacity jumped to 5084 mAh, then used phone for 24 hours, got 8 hours 2 minutes on screen and still had 27% (much more closer to my previous experience with redmi 9T battery). Then I charged from 27% to 100% (yesterday at 10pm / 22:00) estimated capacity went up again, to 5277 mAh. I turned automatic screen refresh rate back on and been using the phone since then (15 hours, 37 minutes), screen on: 2 hours 34 minutes, 74% battery left. Accubattery predicts 8 more hours on screen, which feels better. Also the battery percentage is dropping slower than before.
So guys don't forget to charge to 100% when you get the phone.
Now I can recommend g75 even more.
For nerds, more statistics from the 100% to 27% battery run:

Anonymous, 27 Jan 2025Thank you ! Any tips on gallery and file apps to install? I... morefor file managing I use total commander, but it's not traditional file manager and you will need to use to it, but it's very powerful.
app Gallery from google is ok. Doesn't require login, you can view all photos at once (from latest down) or by folders. You can sort folders by "latest", "name (a-z)", "name (z-a)", "edited", "size" (but only biggest first). I don't know what's the difference between latest and last edited but it sorts the albums differently. Also my only 2 problems with the app is that you can't disable trash can, so every deleted file, you need to empty one more time (or let 30 days sit in trash) and it's weird behaviour with sorting latest photos. I copied full Camera folder from old phone and some pictures that should be in the middle of 2020 are listed as january this year. But neither name or date of creation or date of editing in "about" the file suggest that it should sit in january column. Weird.
And no, no audio, only shows "hello moto" boot picture (the red-ish one with buildings) and then a short animation into motorola logo (little blue "M" in a circle on top of solid white background)

My review after 1 week of using the phone:
                                        negatives:
                                        - can confirm the speakers are very loud, but not the best quality sound (but bearable - it's not a squeaky trash can, and also not a muffled boom sound - just clear stereo sound but with no bass) so for podcasts - yes, for videos - fine, for techno and hard bass - nope, for other genres of music 3 to 5 stars out of 10)
                                        - battery, for me, but I came from Redmi 9T, where I got easly 40 hours on battery with 14 hours screen on time (i'm not power user - web surfing, mail and social media)
on this phone I managed get 7 hours of screen time in 24 hours (but from 80% to 1%) so you get like 10 hours screen time from the battery. I'm still adapting to charging everyday instead of every other day.
                                        - camera app that makes terrible postprocessing (can be fixed in future by motorola, for now I fixed with Gcam)
                                        - and that's about the negatives. I thought the NFC will be a problem, but I paid in Tesco, Lidl, Billa, small local shops and never had a problem. Also small things like no preinstalled gallery app or file manager. The ones from google are terrible (files by google are terrible - gallery app by google is bearable)

                                        positives:
+ display (high refresh, bright and vivid LCD panel with even backlight, with extra dim mode that can really go super dim (touch and hold extra dim icon and adjust the "dimniness" if thats a word) also water touch works nice - just unlocked phone with full wet hands and started podcast app and checked messages while washing dishes
+ power - not a single stutter all week long, user reports of youtube lags is fixed - all smoothly works for me)
+ reception and GPS - reception is perfect - sim, wifi and bluetooth all works great on places where most of the phones don't. Also GPS on cloudy day? Located within 5 seconds with 3 meters accuracy.
                                        + camera (with gcam app)
+ moto features I thought will be gimmick but are really useful, the chop chop flashlight, secure folder, volume button skipping song etc.
+ and many other small things like wireless charging, vanilla android etc.

I'm overall sarisfied with my buy (if are there any redmi 9T owners wondering if they should upgrade - i think it's 100% worth it if you get used for everyday charging). Going into this phone, I wanted middle class phone that wiol last me years and I only worried only about the NFC and vibration motor but both are perfectly fine. The phone surprised me with the beautiful screen, fast responses and features. If motorola delivers with a 5 android updates and 6 years security patches, I'm sure, I will be happy owner of this phone for all these years and hopefully more. As I mentioned, my prev phone was redmi 9t, I had it for 3 and a half years and needed upgrade because the system was getting slow, had only 64gb of storage (which I thought will be plenty but wasn't because nowadays everywhere and for everything you need an app). And the security patch was from 2023.
