I hated this phone from the beginning. It's pretty but that's about it. You can't give individual text tones or ringtones, the contact list doesn't have letters on the side so you have to literally scroll all the way to Q or else search, can't select the vibration intensity, no scheduled texting, can't select a picture for the lock screen, have to swipe down the notification bar to see what percent my battery is on, doesn't have a camera button on the side, the volume buttons I guess are for left handed people but I'm not so it was always on the wrong side, the text thread is ugly and if you download a prettier one you can't receive picture messages, can't slide between pictures in a message thread (have to click one, then go back, then click the next one, then go back, etc), can't select certain messages to delete (it's either a whole thread or none), can't block numbers without saving first & even blocked numbers get through (don't ask me how, but it happened), if someone calls while my phone is off I don't get a missed call notification, battery doesn't last all day & phone dies on the charger, you can select the battery saver mode but then your phone will move slower than a sloth & is basically useless, phone consistently dies at 3% then when you plug it in it's at 0% and you have to wait for it to get to 4% before you can turn it back on (remember the whole time the phone is off you'll never know who called you unless they text or leave a voicemail), takes forever to turn on & forever to end calls (no redial button right after either), there's no restart phone option, doesn't send and receive all my text messages, [I'm not 100% sure but I'm almost positive sometimes I receive texts late, I'll receive about 3 or 4 texts from different people all at the same time after not receiving any messages for a while like they were stuck somewhere], autocorrect is awful (barely recognizes my name, switches actual words to other words that don't make sense, doesn't fill in or even recognize a word I'm trying to spell if I mess up one letter).
And now after 2 years the phone moves incredibly slow, camera has somehow gotten worse (pictures are very grainy), battery barely charges (wake up to 13% after charging the whole night & only charges at a certain angle), phone won't turn on while it's charging, phone will turn off once plugged into a charger.
But for $180 I guess it's an alright phone. If you just need to call and text and download a couple apps it does what it needs to.

Good phone for starters who know little about smartphones. Had mine two years overall okay but not water proof. Accidently Dropped it in.30 mm water for about five seconds and stopped working also charger point broke. All easy to fix but with no back up support makes parts hard to find and Motorola response is to say so sorry cynical I think.

This found is awful. Everything appears as it should, but the phone runs terribly, freezes regularly, gets 'app is not responding' constantly, and occasionally restarts on it's own accord. It's not just mine either, I have met multiple people who back me up on this. What to take a quick snapchat? Think again! You're going to wait 30 seconds for the app to open (assuming it doesn't freeze at loading screen), then the screen (with the snapchat gui over top) will be black for 20 seconds, then once it shows an image, it will be frozen on the first thing the camera saw when it woke up, then once it is finally working and you've taken your photo, the filter screen will lag it immensely. Other apps work better but snapchat is pretty much non-functional, even with a decent degree of patience.
I regret purchasing this phone more than choosing my major at university.

Using it almost two years. Things that i like on it are:
- camera. On good light takes very good, clear and detailed pictures. On low light... Sucks.
- battery. 4-5 screen on time. Web, calls, youtube etc.
- water resistant. Its great for such a cheap device.
- pure android. Grateful to not have some crazy looking, cartoon skin on it, and tons of unused apps...
- great build. Yes is not feels premium but feels very good and stable in the hand.
- moto display. Love it.
Ok. Things that didnt like:
- no more support from motorola/lenovo. Only one major os update. From lollipop to marshmallow. Shame...
- display. A bit low resolution. Just 720p.
- no fingerprint sensor. But for 2015, budget phone... I think is normal.
- memory. Only 16gb and 2gb ram. Need to clear cache too often.
- no fast charging.
Overall i'm happy with this buy. Not major complains. Good, solid device for funny money.
Looking forward for new now. But this one will be used too. Good job from motorola.

I bought this phone about 9 months ago through a newer phone service called TextNow, for only $40 (Christmas Sale). It came with a free thin clear case. I only pay $13.99 a month, and mainly use the texting, calling, and internet through at home WiFi. Then I use the actual phone service away from home. I can choose how much data I want, but the only downfall is that it runs off sprint towers, which do not work here. Luckily, I can still use it through WiFi. My phone service originally started out as a free WiFi texting/calling app.
Anyways, getting to the point...I absolutely love this phone. Best phone I've ever had, honestly. Camera quality is decent, it's fast, durable, waterproof, and the battery lasts for quite a while. The only downfall with the actual phone is that the storage space isn't all that great. Luckily, I've never been one to even have the desire to download several apps on my phones. I keep things pretty simple. But overall, I think it's a really great phone. I play music on it in the shower, watch movies (with HD quality), take pictures of my daughter, and occasionally roam Facebook on it. It's definitely one of the better cheaper phones out there. I would recommended it, yes.

Had this phone for 18mths ( 8Gb / 1Gb memory ). DO NOT BUY. Phone is VERY laggy tried every fix in the book but still no joy. I always look for positives when doing a review.......so for the Moto G3 ( third gen ) decent camera in normal lighting can be slightly dodgy in low light but decent camera for the price. In saying that should you buy NO NO NO. Moto support in U.K a joke got more tips from trawling the net. My old Moto Razr i was better & it only supports 3G. I will not buy Motorola phones again.
