Other thing I can think of is that Moto doesn't want this phone to be crazy expensivee, but a useless 2mp macro or depth camera wouldn't look good on a phone like this, so instead they chose a cheap 2x tele.

I have been a Xiaomi user for sometime, but recently Motorola is doing interesting stuff for me to jump ships. What do you guys think?

Putting main camera without dualpixel PDAF or PDAF + LaserAF is bad idea for high end phones. S20 Ultra had the same problem with main camera only had PDAF and when u record video, camera looses focus all the time in the night and evening.

194MP camera on a 8 Gen ... moreI agree with everything but 194 being stupid with 8 gen 1? No chance. That chip actually have best ISP which is needed for 194 mp shots... on anything but exynos 2200 and 8 gen 1 this would be a bad idea.
This way it's main selling point and i guess if specs are right, i will change my s21 ultra simply to be an early adopter...

The phone will probably end up getting a waterfall display with a punch-hole, since previous Moto flagships have had either of them. Only real exception is the Moto Edge X30's UDC version.
