Kris, 11 Oct 2014I need a phone ... looking like galaxy nexus ... 5.2"S... moreFingerprint? No! I've got a galaxy nexus and I'm definitely buying this phone ASAIR.(as soon as it's released!!!!). But I don't think nexus devices would EVER support fingerprint. You see, they have android stock and fingerprint would require special software also, and all android stock phones don't have fingerprint so, no. And plus. Fingerprint isn't that special. Like the face unlock with the Gnex. I've got like 20 friends that have either GS5 or iPhone 5s and 6 and they barely use the fingerprint option.

If it's 5.9" and under £300, I'll buy it simply because no 5.9" and no 64 bit on the Samsung Edge were deal breakers. This should do nicely until the Note 5 or Edge 2.

@jmaster299, my personal meaning is: It gives 2 Group of Users/Smartphones: Big and Shorter - and not a minority!
Examples: The iphone 6 and her Big-Brother
Sony Z3 and the Compacts
Samsung S4 .. S4 Mini
HTC One .. Mini
.. and so on!
And we wont / loves Small-Phones!!!

Once again the vocal minority will scream the loudest, and will once again be wrong about their claims. All the different manufactures are putting out huge "phablets" for a reason, people want them. You, personally, may not want one, but the masses in the market do, and they will always appeal to the masses.
Steve Jobs, bright day in the universe when that jerk kicked it, arrogantly tried to tell customers what they wanted, instead of actually giving them want they want. There are still the blind sheep that will buy anything with an Apple logo on it, but their market share has taken a dump because they refused to change with the desires of the market.
Now, with the iPhone 6 and 6+, their sales are skyrocketing again because they are giving people what other companies gave their customers 2+ years ago. Bigger phones and more features.
This is purely my own speculation, but Google and Motorola didn't want to end up with two phones directly competing with each other. Which is what happened with the Nexus 5 and the LG G2. The G2 still had the unique buttons on the back, but in terms of platform, size and features, the two phones were too much a like. The only thing the Nexus 5 had going for it was its marketing as the "cheaper" alternative.
If people want a phone with a very clean Android experience, but a smaller screen size, they can go with the Moto X 2014. For people who want the same experience, but with a larger screen, they can go with the Nexus 6.
It creates a win-win for both Motorola and Google. If the Nexus 6 had a 5.5", or smaller, screen size the two phones would be eating into each other's sales. But now people can have two phones, with identical features, with the selling point being the screen size.

The renders show that the Nexus 6 will be smaller in size than the iPhone 6+ and very slightly bigger than the Note 4. The reason it would be 5.9 inches is because they need the extra 0.4 inches for the on-screen buttons. This will make the bezels smaller, so I don't think it would be a massive phone, if you find a Note comfortable, I'm pretty sure you'll find the Nexus 6 comfortable as well.

dude, 09 Oct 2014Wrong, it will be the best selling Nexus.Don't think so dear friend , because it's screen size is too big for a phone ... the CPU is not much efficient because the chipset isn't good enough because a new GPU is going to be shown in a few month and finally Motorola isn't that good because it don't give it's phones to all the countries ...

AnonD-317161, 09 Oct 2014Can't wait for both Nexus X/6 and Nexus 9I can't either It's GONNA BE LEGENDARY. BTW I think it's 5.24 inches for 3 reasons: 1- It would be extremely big and Google wouldn't make such a bad decision, but I personally like big phones.Even if Google did make this 5.9" phone it would come in 2 versions like iphone 6. 2- The CPU-Z Test, it looks like it's 5.24 inches not 5.9. 3-FFC, Because it says that the motorola 5.9 inch phone has AT&T and Verizon support but I think google always sticks with Global GSM

5.9 inch screen? I hope nobody buys it. I hope it is the biggest flop on any Google/Motorola phone ever. Then they put it out in a 5-5.2 inch screen and score a win.
