I received the 7.0 update on Sunday, October 2nd, 2016. I don't know if I will get the 7.1 version since this will be the last update for the Nexus 6 since Google only updates their devices for 2 years. It's now time to upgrade to the Pixel XL to keep my software updated from kinks and security flaws. I do have McAfee Live Safe installed to keep me protected as well as Freedome VPN.

Just enrol to Android beta, update and then unenrol. You won't get a factory reset, but you will get the Nougat update (as stated there NOT DP5) cheers.

Factory images are out .. developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu
Either flash that factory image , Or wait for OTA .
