For those of you who are complaining about the short battery life. Just google the Motorola battery BX-80 and all your problems will go away. Will increase battery life by a whopping 85%.

        Cheers

i just bought this phone and i'm wondering why my audio output is very low. either playing music tracks or the message alerts, i can barely hear a thing when on a crowded place. however, if i play games, the volume output is at max.

i have set the volume to level 7 but still, the volume output when i play music tracks are low.

          am i missing something?

          thanks!

Everybody that I know that has one of these v8 phones, are completely dissatisified. some of the functions only work sometimes. Generally, the phone is not reliable. Battery life is approximately one hour.

Battery life sucks, only last around an hour and fifteen minutes between charges. The flip is not user friendly, very hard to open, but equally easy to close. Extremely difficult to keep clean.

v8 is a very nice unit. the sales clerk should have recommended the higher model which is the v9. they were trying to sell all old units. i should have bought the v9. but actually v8 is a very nice unit. im contented already. very sleek, modern, nice features

I've had one since Feb and I'm on my 4th one...tis one is going back and I'm getting a different model altogether. Problems with keypad, phone shutting off on its own, people complaining of "echoing" and the list continues. Yet when I ask Tmobile of anyone else has complained, they say no its supposed to be one of the "better" models/phones.

ashutosh vyas, 25 Nov 2008really astonishing looks......value for money...has good bl... moreI've had one of these for nearly a year. Buttons have caused problems almost since new and I am about to take it back under warranty to get them looked at. Battery life is Ok, I normally get about 3 days of moderate use between charges.

My main problem is the software for the calander which is a major step back from the V3. Main problems are around the alarms attached to calander events. If setting a custom alarm you can't change the units from minutes so you can only set the custom alarm for a max of 99 minutes. After that you have to select a whole day. Also, if you miss an alarm it doesn't stay on the screen but disappears after a minute. So, if you miss an alarm it isn't obvious when you open the phone that you have missed anything. Finally, if you do catch the alarm you can open the calander item but you can't edit it from there. Instead you have to dismiss the alarm and then go back into calander to change anything in the event. It is just cumbersom. I have asked Motorola about these things and they tell me they are aware of them but no software update for the V8. Does anyone have a solution for any of these problems or am I just destined to get a phone with better sorted software?

You are full of brilliance BG, the reason so many people complain about battery life on this phone is because it is very bad, that's why. It is so bad in fact that T-Mobile has stopped selling the phone due to the losses it has incurred from people returning the phone, also Consumer Reports suggest that it is "very prone to repairs". I and numerous others will attest to that. Maybe your phone's battery has lasted so long because no one calls you and you have no one to call or send texts to. Maybe if you had some friends or actual people calling you, you would see that this phone falls way short of the 8 hour talk time Motorola originally boasted about this phone. In essence it was a complete fabrication on Motorola's part.
I suggest anyone who wants to purchase this phone in any incarnation purchase it from your countries authorized Motorola reseller or Motorola itself. Most likely you will have problems with this phone that will require service.

im planning of asking my parents on buying this phone for me. i've read many good comments about the phone and i think that this phone is really great. the most important thing for me when choosing a phone is if it has a good music quality. even if this phone is does not support 3g, it doesnt matter anyway. as long as i can use it for texting, calls and the camera makes good pictures. i just hope that this phone is cheaper now so that my parents can afford it. i dont want to buy expensive phones. im excited. ive searched for many phones and cant decide what to choose because moto really make good phones. keep it up!
