It's not a problem, just that in your case the encoded location should be the same because usually you'll use the same computer at the same location to blog.
Even your reply to me didn't show the same encoded location. It's funny coz if you view all my comments, you'll see the same code vV5B. By right if you send any comments from the same computer and same location, it should be the same. I believe the encoded location's function is used to identify the message sender if there's crime involved. (I might be wrong). There are so many comments posted using Anonymous but you can identify whether they are from the same sender by looking at the encoded location. Sometimes it's hard to understand how it happened.

The V8 does not have a memory card slot. You are limited to either 512mb or 2gb of internal memory. I have 15 songs on my V8, no videos, and about 420 messages, 40 pictures and 100 text messages and my 2gb is completely full. Motorola is making updates on the Razr2 as we speak. We have already seen several other Razr's recently released for Sprint and Rogers. AT&T also has a V9x which has GPS. I am sure there will be more updates to the Razr2 very shortly. Make sure you buy one that was made for your particular country and purchase it from an authorized vendor so you can claim the warranty. Personally I would recommend against getting the first renditions of the Razr2. The keypad problem seems rampant. And it is a nasty problem. I am looking forward to getting a new phone soon.

Need your help this time, just wanted to do a bit of research, were you at the same location (home, internet cafe, different computer) when you logged in to post your comments, both the first time and the latest?
I asked because your encoded location shown on your first comment (in grey, next to the date & time)) was "wuj4" and the latest recently was "wujk". Just take a look and you'll know what I mean. If you were using the same computer, logged in at the same location (say home), the encoded location should be the same.
Would appreciate if you could help me with your feedback, thanks mina.

No doubt the feedbacks are based on individual's preference, it's really good for V8 users to see you preferred V8 better than LG. Many commented the V8 lacked features when compared to other phones but it made up by its stability, quality and performance.
The V8 really needed to be owned in order to be appreciated - exactly what you & I experienced.

EMS06, 22 Sep 2008@Stuart Hi mate! At first I thought it was a once off and ... moreI just remembered this when you talked about software update. I got my my V8's software updated sometime in April by my local Motorola Service centre and probably about 2 months after that, I visited the motorola UK's website and found V8 software update available (my country's Motorola website does not have V8 shown for update) so I backed my phone up in the Motorola Phone Tool just in case, and did the software update process. After that, nothing happened, I didn't see any improvements or degradation of performance but could this be the reason why my V8's time remain accurate? Worth trying I would say as you can always do master reset if anything happens and restore back your contacts, calendar & tasks into your V8. Not sure whether this will solve the time problem but just something I thought of.

@Stuart
Hi mate! At first I thought it was a once off and it will be okay but it went on until now. There was a time some weeks ago where I decided to let it go on without me re-adjusting the time and guess what, I lost exactly 4 minutes in 2 weeks. I'm going to check if there's a new software update available, maybe that could help.
@Ninth Delegate
Sorry, I chuckled on reading your time issue, it is a strange one indeed. Unfortunately the Anonymous poster about the auto update time is clueless as to what that option is for and he/she was being impossible in his/her response. He/she shouldn't have bothered. I'm now beginning to think it is a software issue.

Gerard, 22 Sep 2008Stuart, I can't find the other types of V8's crystal ... moreMy suggestion, it's OK, just let the side keys turn white because most of the time only you will notice the diference because the slight white patch and silver colors are quite difficult to distinguish between wear & tear or coating peeled off under different lightings. Not very visible unless you purposely show it. Anyway, you might be buying another phone by the time the wear becomes more obvious.

EMS06, 18 Sep 2008I just want to confirm what HK pointed out a few pages back... moreHi friend, my previous V8's clock time didn't slow down or run faster, mine's ok until the day I sold it off. I used the V8 for time reference quite often so I can attest to that. Wonder what's the cause.

Ive found that the time changes on my unit when its charging while on standby. In my case, it speeds it up by half a minute every charge.

mina, 22 Sep 2008which is worth buying,v8 or n73? someone pls help?..tnx in ... moreI have to be frank, in V8's forum, you'll most likely get the V8's vote and Nokia's forum their support.
Depending on what you (yourself) want, you'll eventually need to decide. Personally I guess you probably wanted V8's design with N73's specs (just guessing). Really, if your priorities in choosing a phone are its solid built, good voice quality, fashionable design then I feel V8's for you. N73 is better in camera dept and comes with 3G - if that's what you are looking for.
(bear in mind 3G requires subscription so if you need & really uses it, go for it, as for me, I don't need 3G)
It is not an easy decision, just make sure you choose what you really want and IMPORTANTLY, don't regret about it later because whatever's done, it's done. It's a decision made. Good luck.

Knight, 21 Sep 2008Help ???????????
how can its battery timing be improved it... moreThere are a few ways to have your V8 stayed "on" with improved or reserved power:
1) Assuming you bought the V8 brand new, did you charge your battery for 8 hours or more the first time? (If not, look at No.2)
2) Try to completely draining off the battery power and charge the battery again for 8 to 10 hours. (For complete draining, I've used a 4.2Volts bulb - torch light bulb connected to a wire then place the bulb end on + and the wire to -, let the bulb lightens up until there's no more power left in your battery). If you let the V8 turn off by itself due to low battery, keep in mind that there's usually some power left inside so it's not completely drained off.
3) The 740Mah BX40 battery is not considered a high capacity battery, you could buy the BX81 which comes with 1380Mah and don't forget the new battery cover that's slightly thicker than the original.
4) If all the above didn't work to your preference, try putting a car charger that plugs into your car's cigarette lighter outlet and charge your V8 for 20mins or 30mins, really helps in extending the usage.
5) If you don't use a lot on the bluetooth feature, turn it off - it'll save precious amount of battery power.
6) Another choice is to buy the P790 portable charger, this charger could help to re-charge your V8 for roughly 2 full cycles without having to look for power outlets, you can even charge your phone while walking.
I have the car charger and the P790 portable charger with me so I have never encountered low battery on my V8 right up until I sold it recently.
Hope the above helps.
