Looks really good, the best design out there today imo. Hope the sw functionality/practicality will match the looks. A practical taskmanager / calendar is essential for me.
Can anyone tell me whether the RAZR2 models will have RECORDABLE voicedial? That will be crucial for me, as the voicedial system in the present V3i is a disaster - it doesn't recognize half the names, no matter how you pronounce them!! I really hope Moto went for the traditional system where you can record the names yourself. If so I may well buy one, as I LOVE the clamshell phones and this slim design really rocks! BUT... I MUST have a reliable voicedial to use with the BT carkit. (Holding a phone whilst driving is illegal here).
PS: my two bits re the Nokia/Moto controversy: Nokia software is very good, practical and intuitive, but the size and design falls behind. If Moto manages to make a phone this sexy with software and a menu that can match (or beat) Nokia they have a guaranteed winner... I'm certainly interested!

Darkman, Dont you like UI and ease of using feature of Nokia phones?..and symbian 9 is really fast...check N95.

To Grego, what are you talking about ? Motorola will hit and beat all phones down right now when v8 appears.
Motorola is number one, Nokia is number bad : mobile bricks very big, thick, crude, plastic, slow and complicated.

Moto had potential to keep ahead of the competition but look at the gem of a phone they cancelled... the E1120 (check on this site)! It just shows that they could have had another design progression but chose to kill themselves with the RAZR.
I think they are gambling their last chips to regain some face... but it won't work, sorry Moto.

before u bash moto for being late in technology, pls remember that moto was the one who pioneered the widespread use of digital mobiles, the clamshell design, the mobile internet, FM radio and a lot more.. nokia, SE and samsung only followed suit..cant nokia fans just get a life????

i currently own a v3i and i continue to fall in love with it because of its design.. i hope the v8 comes soon im so excited waiting for it. i owned an n70 and i didnt even get to use its so so features. i'd rather have a stunner for a phone... stay away nokia fans the phone is not for you!!

The OS is interesting, but thats it. Will one be able to add programs?
A huge seconds screen will kill of the battery faster. Still, if the menus are fixed up to look like we are in 2007 and not 1998 (like V6) I will buy it. Camera is not everything but autofocus and a slightly better chipset cannot be to much to ask for in such an expensive phone?

Great in design. If u r looking for great features, Motorola is certainly not for u, go for Nokia and SE. My opinion is, the main purpose of hp is calling people, so dun expect too much on hp.

you better think twice it is an improvement, it has huge external display with a good resolution, crystal talk technology, the Linux O.S wich I think is great, is built with better materials, besides it has a great MP3 player, and other details not everything is about the camera, after all that's what I believe and I respect your opinion, anyway, if there is a monster that would be the Z8 which I'm thinking to buy as soon as possible

This is a disappointment. I have the Maxx and this has almost nothing new besides increased weight. No upgrades in camera departement (huge disapp), still no radio, no wifi. Why upgrade? I love my Maxx, but they should bring in some new elements.

Everyone is using opera now, nothing new. Although the built in memory is rather nice. Also I HATE SHINY, FINGERPRINT MAGNETS! Why oh why Motorola?! To all phoe manufacturers, if you are going to produce a glossy finish... for the love of god make sure that you find a way to keep finger prints and face marks off or dont bother:)!

I WANT THIS BLOODY FONE!!!. It's so sweet, plus it has a 2gb internal phone memory, damn i wish i can get my hands on one of these babies. Hope my pocket can aford it. Lol.

there is no 2gb version. there is 60mb+2gb IN CARD on the V9 .

It makes my blood boil when people keep harking on about the rzr type design,,,Nokia make candybar and sliders every fone they bring out so why dont you silly buggers go to them forums and argue how other makes keep bringing out candybars eh go on you soft heads,,,motorola have got this groundbreaking design what they invented and IS iconic,,,they bring out the razer design with improved apps and hardware in their ICONIC DESIGN,,,Nokia and s/e and samsung are only doing the same thing improving specs etc in the same old candybar design thats as old as the mobile fone !!! So lets look at this then,nokia are bringing out the same design since day one and still bring out the candybar design"aka 1100 model 8 years old"so they are more to blame then your ignorant sods than moto who only introduced this in june 2004 ...Moto do right in bringing out more updated razer fones as all others do candybar sliders and on it goes whereas moto shook the world and brought out somthing really different and sold millions of them "and" will sell millions more as people get wise to newer technologies and want them but do not wish to despose of the iconic razer looks and sexy styling of the handset they fell in love with..Now they can safely do that by buying the same iconic design they wish to live with each day of their lives but with all the new advances in technology built in
