1,200 euros, seriously? I can buy three to four of my current cell phones for that same price and my current phone barely even falls behind majorly in relation to the statistics

I would assume someone buys foldable for the form factor.
Otherwise, it doesn't make sense to buy one.
This one is near $1,400 while it falls way behind $800 Motorola 40.Edge+ in all the areas, particularly photography, chipset and battery.
So paying $600 more for the form factor to compromise whole bunch of things isn't a smart choice, personally speaking.
You do what spins your wheels.

Like make the cameras like on The Galaxy S10+ (On the front)

On sale with a €1199 price tag here.

Nothing special. Sucking battery life. Mediocre performance.

3800mah with snapdragon 8+ gen 1, for 83h of endurance rating. probably cuz of the (way too) high 165hz refresh rate

Poita, 22 May 2023I wish Motorola would support updates longer than 2 years a... moreEvery phone manufacturer pays Google a royalty for each Android version running on each phone, so costing it costs Motorola more to update existing phones and of course not selling a new phone.

Those who update more presumably are the larger firms so I would assume pay less per phone
Google phone department pays Google software internally

Apple similarly does this also as Apple runs IOS.
Apple additionally pays Nokia a royalty for each device that runs IOS.
IOS is NOT an Apple construct but uses many Nokia patented processes used by Nokia Symbian Software, Apple conceded this fact in an earlier case bought by Nokia against Apple

Some people won't or don't need updates beyond schedules, some due to loss damage or a compelling need to have the latest phone will update.

Another driving factor is the switch off of the 3G network.

Generally it is the "GENS" that offer more than the versions even though I could manage with 4G I went 5G even though more expensive, to buy another 4G phone was just duplication

these phones are stunning. With apple making their software harder to use, overprocessing images, making camera bump as thick as a phone and making future phones bigger, what may still keep them on track is their old phones and tabs. Google and motorola are gonna lead soon with clean software.
Samsung cant be kicked out anytime soon.

RIP SAMSUNG 2011-2023, Motorola is here to make better phones! Finally, Lenovo knows the Phone game now, with Stylus 5g 3, and this, 2023 will be Motorola's year!!!

KdavidM26, 01 Jun 2023this phone is not crap, it is the best foldable phone in market Best flip, maybe, but best fold, definitely not.

The non-ultra variant has a bigger battery, and a 64 MP camera. Interesting decision!

I am disappointed with the design.
The 2019 RAZR looked very cool. When you saw the RAZR 2019, you knew it is RAZR, it is Motorola.
When I look at this generation of RAZR.... It looks like every other brand....

At least some impovements (outer screen) comparing Razr 2022.
