This phone is better equipped than the v3x. It has a flash for the camera. The vga camera for video calls can be used for self portraits. The v3x was intended to fill a gap which is being filled now by motorolas new line up. This phone has a better user interface and is smaller than the v3x. This phone is 6mm longer and 1 mm thicker than the standard razr. Thats pretty amazing when you consider what is packed into it. I dont think any other manufacturer has anything else quite as superb is this handset.

please tell me whats better? this or v3x?
because this has HSPDA. and v3x has flash on its camera. and the second camera can be used for self portraits. CAN this phone's second camera be used as like that to? PLEASE answer my questions, im very confused. thanks.

the phone is nothing like the previous "razr" phones .
Very nice screed with a decent resolution finally (not like the nice but "poor" resolution-wise screen of the original V3)
UI is extremely different , and at last it is manageable by an average user .
The camera works fine , pictures are decent at least .
Nice , but since i have an engineering sample i cannot say for sure how the final model is or will be .
Eventhough , i would never spend money on a motorola phone...

Orange are now showing this on their website as coming soon. Gave them a call and a nice chap told me that they are expected to be available this coming week. I hope so, a pretty young lady nearly talked me into buying a samsung today.

According to Orange it will be available before Christmas. Vodafone say the same. Many online retailers are stating early 2007. Any longer and I may lose interest in it. I called Orange and the chap said there is no official date yet but I may want to call back on 10th December. Not sure what he meant, perhaps he just liked my voice. I've never been so geeky over a gadget before.

Love this phone, has the GForce graphics excelerator, fast response, nice camera, music keys are great. 2GB of music nice. And the design is sexy. Gonna wait till the Voda two tone color comes out. Half black half silver. that should be even sexier. Nice job Moto!!!!!!

well guys the phone has been out a while in New Zealand for $999. i waz going 2 buy it but with that price no way im jst guna wait till next year or after christmas in which hopefully the price drops but probably unlikely! :) but i rely want it!!

i have had this phone for about two weeks now. Not to bad. I had a v3 before, a v3i and I just moved up from a d600, it's a bit faster. The os is not that much refined, menu is still the same, still the same java based os. No linux. the mp3 player works similar to the old ipods not as sophisticated as the w series from sony, but what do you expect. battery lasts so far 2 - 3 days. screen is hard to read in direct sun, but u can get over it

Quick question for the moderators...
just looked at ur phone rankings by Rate and i noticed it had SE and Nokia's only with the higest rating at 8.3 followed by 8.2 etc... looking at the Razr Maxx rating is 8.3666.. on average so why is it not included???
You guy's are just plain biased... or my calculations are incorrect and i demand an explanation.

Update about release. Have been in touch with the motorola store, they will not be selling these until after Christmas. Motorola confirmed they started shipping to suppliers on 1st December but is up to the stores as to when they start selling them. I need a phone now, may get a rizr instead.

Received a very speedy response from Motorola UK yesterday, this phone started shipping in the UK on 1st December so should be available this week. I've wanted one since it was announced.

yeah motorola took from the linux UI and used parts of it to enhance the current one. temporary until we get the new one. but i promise this isn't linux.
it is better than the V3x though, yes. should be quicker going through menus since the nvidia chip only worked for V3x's camera but is fully active in razr maxx.
when you no longer experience a menu lag thank nvidia. their processors is going to start showing up in many more motorolas. here is more info on GoForce that powers the maxx:

Phone is great. best motorola i have seen in a while. im over the menu tho, motorola need to fix this and update! other than that the camera is ok. no lag or anything. pics and movies load up fast too. still not too clear tho but its ok!
