Hey i saw the video on youtube, the OS is so similar to ROKR E2( i have one) The UI is so similar, u can look at it. Type razr maxx on youtube and click the one by pioneermoto. The OS and UI is so much better than V3x, the ringing lights are kewl too, i think i might get this baby

nah 2 little, it's improved a bit but still the old P2K software. no linux yet.

hey richard. I think the OS in this phone isnt the same as V3x. i think it is like rokr E2 the chamaleon OS, correct me. Am i right?

Another thing i would mention is that the K800 is slower when going from menu pages compared to the motorola V3 Maxx.
And not to mention the K800 doesnt look anything as appealing - James Bond or not!

k800 is really in a different league but i know of at least one advantage (aside from the thinness): it's one of those many phones still running slow old 384kbps UMTS instead of RAZR maxx's 3.6mbps HSDPA.

SCPL series is like samsung ultra but with style and battery life. thinner, stronger but with features.

we'll be there by next year. have patience.
i already know the RAZR maxx camera will not be anything to write home about but the phone really is advanced for its time. look at the HSDPA speeds at 3.6mbps. you hear about many 3G phones but many of them are still using UMTS 384kbps. many of the HSDPA ones are 1.8mbps like the samsung z560, one of the maxx's competitors.
there are very few 3.6mbps HSDPA phones and motorola has given us one with the Opera HTML browser, a fast nvidia goforce processor, external touch controls, stylish glass designs and all in a slim 15mm package. it may not have a 5mp camera or PDA functions but this is still a powerful phone at a competitive price.
everything more we want will come with SCPL series starting 2007. at least that's what moto has promised.

in the past i have own all the top motorola models.starting with c350(my first M model) and finaly a1200(ming)..i have also owned v3,v3i,v3x,l6,l7..and all i have to say it's that..they have to STOP...makin' phones with such heavy resemblence with previous models..what i obs that in time..they fixed some bugs..for example..the v3 was a s*** phone.low batery and bad signal,no nothin..v3i was more than decent in comparison to it's predecesor.v3x was a great phone..with a splendid camera..with amazing rezults in day light..and i sincerly mean AMAZING..and i also liked the rubber..and the lcd..some bugs..but not that big..when i bought l6 and after that l7 ..i felt like i was using my old v3..i just can't take it..i just want a new model..with a decent 2007 camera like 3mpx..a new desing ..no signal problems..and motorola stilish signature !!!!i'm askin' that much ???..nokia ,SE,they allready are in the next level..when motorola fans will ever be ?

Voice call quality is great, very clear, noticibly better than GSM.

Hey guys, glad to hear the reviews coming. No point speculating whether the phone is crap or the best thing ever made since sliced bread.
Only do a review if u've used it for a day or so.
Anyhows, wanted to know how the sound quality and receptions is like on the phone. Does it have stereo speakers? Is it louder/softer than the normal RAZR V3?

This phone is so good. Thank you Motorola for finally giving us a great phone in the Razr line with all the problems fixed. I love the rubbery feel and Glass and the buttons are truly superb. The screen is absolutely amazing. All my friends are super jealous and think the screen is by far the best they have seen. Ok the camera is average and there are a couple of small quirks like you have to press so many buttons to delete a saved picture but if you're not a huge user of a camera on a phone and you want slim 3G, this is the only phone that is as perfect as it can be

what does that have to do with the RAZR maxx V6, nokia fanboy? you haven't begun selling it and are advising against the purchase of it?
let me guess what you recommend, one of those big ugly nokia N-Series hunks of plastic? if you love nokia so much then go to your favorite phone on gsmarena and discuss it there.
motorola has made tremendous strides in quality, starting with the RAZR which had the fit and finish unmatched by old phones like the V5XX made of cheap plastic. phones that felt like they'd fall apart in your hands. they fell short of the software and processors, the whiz bang features and this is what begins to take shape with RAZR maxx V6.
come back and give us a report once you begin selling it, RAZR maxx V6 that is. we're sure going to keep buying our stylish and slim Motorolas no matter how much the nokia fanboys can't stand it, so you'll have no trouble selling them.

Motorola has repeatedly fallen short for quality. I'm a Vodafone retail store manager, and have been for the past few years now. I've worked at various locations as well. EVERY MODEL OF MOTOROLA PHONE I HAVE EVER SOLD HAS HAD SYSTEMIC PROBLEMS OF SOME SORT. We do the numbers, Motorola comes back for repair at least 4x more than any other brand. Go ahead, buy this phone. You might be one of the lucky few who has no problems. Though, in the likely event that your phone has a software fault, or was manufactured with inferior materials, don't complain. You've been warned.
It is cheaper for Motorola to manufacture mobile phones with a 48% failure rate (that is 48% of all mobiles sold break down in the first 12 month warranty period), and fix them when they do fail than manufacture quality goods. Their marketing department takes care of any bad publicity. It's actually attrocious, take my word for it or don't, I just work for Vodafone.

get out of the past, nokia fanboy. the RAZR maxx will not suffer from any past compromises of RAZR V3. the person below me has already posted a review testament to this. i've been talking about the speedy menu system for months, it's equipped with a new very fast processor that will shut down any old slow menu nightmares. and build is stupendous, this phone is like a tank.
there is no reason to -wait- for something when the wonderful RAZR maxx V6 is here already at 3.6mbps HSDPA.

I just bought this phone after suffering with a Razr V3 for the last year waiting for something cool to come out that is small, 3G and fixes all the little problems I hated about the Razr 3. All I can say is thank you Motorola. This is brilliant!! 10 out of 10. The only thing I don't know yet is if the stupid dust inside the screen I got with my V3 will be on this one. Time will tell. It's fast response, user friendliness and sound quality of MP3 is outstanding - like my ipod. The buttons that control the media player at the front of the phone are almost alien technology and best I've ever used. They work to your finger touch but ignore the material in your pocket. If you cover your finger with any material, it will ignore that too. Compared to the V3, the screen is breathtaking in resolution, brightness and contrast. The external display is a little dim but I haven't had time to see if you can adjust that in the options yet (you probably can) I have looked for so long for the perfect phone and it's finally here in the Razr Maxx

So far this is the fastest HSDPA Next G device available to Telstra. Depending on how you get it through Telstra, it can be only around $679 through the right channels. Telstra will be releasing a faser speed network in the coming new year so i would probably hold out for it as there will possibly be a Nokia coming out as well in the first quarter of next year. This Moto Maxx is a great looking phone and it's functions are great, but Motorola's haven't had the best reputation for a phone that lasts longer than 12mths without something starting to happen to it, such as freezing, shutting off itself and also the slow reaction times of the keypad-these are all very similar faults with the Razr series which i think Motorola should take a good look at it.
