          found a video on YouTube of the Vodafone branded RAZR maxx:

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1yYgY489es

          looks like a new color combination. stupid girl spends more time talking about other crap than the phone but at least we see it's alive.

            Whatever happened to the promise by Motorola's chief to cut the delay between handset announcement and lauch? The Maxx isn't likely to be out this year now it seems. The Verizon CDMA version of the Maxx was one sweet looking piece of kit. I'll probably wait until the Maxx's successor now. Wish Moto would secure a better camera supplier. A plain simple 3.2 megapixel autofocus cam with no optical zoom, no macro mode tomfoolery, that's best left to a dedicated camera, is all a camera phone needs. Just something good to take an opportunistic snapshot.

              Motorola sure is doing a hell of a lot better than the beleaguered Sony, one half of SE:

              "Sony's profit plunged 94 PERCENT for the July-September quarter as a global battery recall and red ink in its video-game business hurt the Japanese electronics and entertainment company.

              Sony Corp.'s group net profit for the fiscal second quarter totalled $14 million (all figures U.S.), dwindling from about $240 million the same period the previous year, the Tokyo-based manufacturer said Thursday. An extra cost of $429 million related to a global recall of 9.6 million Sony laptop batteries was a major factor behind the sharp drop in profit.

              Sony reported a $366 million operating loss in its gaming division because of charges related to the preparation for the next-generation PlayStation 3 console, set to go on sale in the U.S. and Japan next month. Sony trimmed its fiscal 2006 shipment target for its lagging PlayStation Portable handheld machines to 9 million from the initial 12 million machines. Sony shipped 14 million PSP machines in fiscal 2005."

              wow, motorola makes more operating profit in Q3 2006 ($1.6 billion in profit) than the japanese electronics giant Sony did all throughout 2006 and kal speculates of them merging. LOL.

                And whats with the 4 letters by the way..it aint working dude..ask ur bosses to think something else..RAZR..PEBL..SLVR..ROKR we have enough...not anymore..I was happy to see "Capry/Canary" rather than RIZR or KRZR. Its getting crazy now.

                Kal - I agree- it is getting crazy now. Canary or Capri is much more stylish than the 4 letters !

                    @kal

                    Apology accepted, the new scpl with infos i know is not 5mm. Theres 2, the higher end is a clam with 4 letter also.. which i cant say. it has 2 screeens, u might be curios, haha, but i think it has a touch screen according to information given to me. But its very thin also. ANother one is a thin bar without much info, lower end, well they are due january 2007, hope to look at it.

                    Rokr E6 is a confirmed phone, i played with it, erm.. Its for the asian market, not too bad.. 3.5mm JAck, hmm u should see the real phone, glossy, glass on top of the phone, tho photos suck though, try to look at the real phone well..

                    KAL, peace

                      @All

                      I dont know how to start. Plz dont misunderstand me, the only reason I show up in moto forum even though I like samsung design is coz, these are the only two brands who pay attention to design. Sorry Nokia or SE fans..but thats how it is, you are not bothered about design at all. I liked LG chocolate too by the way.
                      Someone sometimes back posted a funny message about how he sees phones in the future. I liked it very much..coz be it Nokia or samsung or SE, we all know what they are best at....like say Nokia high-end phones are becoming like a multimedia computres..you name it and they have it...the design sucks though...SE?..they are doing great with their walkman series and camera,no doubt about it..but their design never appealed to me so far, it has more of a teenage flevor in it...Samsung..its getting thinner by the time..looks same, bad battery, but its getting thinner, I think soon they will release a phone that will be as thin as a credit card...and what's with moto???? whats their expertise? can you tell me..build quality??? ..they take years to realise 5 new RAZR or Pebl in 5 differnt colors with some tattos or some celebraty signatures on it, without any improvement...thats what I dont like. This RAZR maxx, as a HSDPA phone might be the best moto phone that you can think of, but when you look at other HSDPA phones, this comes nowhere to compair in features and quality. But still you guys go on and on. Thats what bothers me. Sometimes you guys behave like, how in gerenral americans behave..sorry I do live in US as well..but its funny..they dont care about anything in the world as long as "the Gas price is low"...its same with moto...as long as you get a free upgrade from moto..you dont care. But those who are spending money to get a phone, they do care and they certainly wont go for moto. That "Scapel" you are talking about, I knew of it for months. I'm eager to see it as well. I heard its 5mm thin with 3.5mm jack and memory card and all.. but from the leacked design, it doesnt look anything great. When they do it, I'm sure Samsung will make a 3mm thin phone to compete with. Its all good for us the consumers.

                      Undoubtedly moto has a great marketing team. Looking at all you loyal fans makes a strong case for that. And to "Motorola police" You sound like someone with some backups (I did like debating with Richard buchanan as well), but why still you are saying that I posted something "insane crap about motorola's financial quarter", that was on REUTERs for gods shake. Are you trying to say they are insane? Dude you can always defend it by saying something else, but thats a fact.
                      Goodnight folks. see ya tomorrow.

                          yea, agree this one of the nicest phone i had seen. Actually, me personally, i am ok with the razr series, not a super fan though, I got a V3x which is ok though. Thor rokr E2 im using is one of the best Moto phone i had use. Stable UI. Actually im looking forward to the UMTS Q in black. It is going to be available end of yr.

                          Well, Kal, i repect Samsung now, please, peace ok? i am not a harccore MOTO fan, i know its weakness, its bad camera, but it has its strength, the design, the built. When i touch the KRZR, the feeling is very good, like the LG chocolate. What i couldnt stand of samsung is its love to COPY. I know sometimes Manufactures do copy, but Samsing copied alot, including I300x from N91, I300 of moto Q or blackberry.

                          And all ultra edition from the razr series. Well remember D500? i used to like that phone and i thoght samsung is creativity. But all the designs now look similar, which make dissapointed.

                          To kal once again, respect Motorola please i respect samsung Mobile.

                          Peace

                          To the guy who provoked moto police, watch ur words please, dont use harsh words, this is only a cellphone forum. If u like Nokia, go back to ur forum and not Bsing here, like a wild bull or jackarse

                                yes, kal, unlike samsung and their stagnant marketshare, motorola has enjoyed success over these past few years so of course the bar is raised higher. that has nothing to do with PREDICTIONS from analysts for Q3 2006. they predicted higher revenue and more phones being sold and motorola missed those targets marginally. some see it as a mere buying opportunity however, a chance to get in before the next explosion and have chosen to buy the stock anyway. this explains the rebound.

                                samsung only needed to flex a little muscle to have a better quarter because they've been dead for the past 8 or so financial quarters.

                                for Q4 2006, the higher end RAZR handsets such as maxx, RAZR xx, KRZR and RIZR (and new Vodafone HSDPA exclusive V1100) will bring profits as the normal RAZR is repositioned as a middle of the road phone. they also rely on higher profitable iDEN handsets on US carrier Sprint Nextel that will begin shipping this month and next.

                                there is also MOTOFONE, already pre-sold in the millions that will gain even more marketshare in developing nations that only nokia can reach.

                                beginning in 2007, the SCPL platform handsets start arriving that will replace RAZR series at the high end.

                                i don't care what analysts have to say, kal. they can predict nothing. they are the same analysts who say the iPod is losing popularity when Apple just had their best financial quarter ever and over 30% growth. the same ones that said Texas Instruments might be disappointing on behalf of nokia and motorola's disappointing quarters when TI gained. the same ones who have been saying since for over a year that RAZR won't last. their predictions and targets mean squat.

                                    @Moto police

                                    You have spent enough time without realizing what I have posted.

                                    The article I have posted clearly says Moto didn't do well in 3rd quater compared to other brands. There are huge expectation in the market from Moto.
                                    I'm NOT talking about how they are doing compared to 3rd quater in 2005. Everyone sold more phones compared to last year.

                                    In short Motorola is becoming victim of its own success. That was my point.

                                    When did I claim that moto is thinking of selling their company? I've only speculated that if oneday they merge with other electronics company then I wont be surprised...cant you read?
                                    If you know something about business, then you should be well aware that the american companies has a long history of going bankrupt or merge with one another..be it their aviation-airlines or be it automotive industry. If oneday that happens..then I'm sure you will defend it by saying..'Thats a great move by Moto..we will take the world again'.lol.

                                      Thursday October 19, 2006

                                      NEW YORK - Shares of Motorola, the world's second-biggest maker of mobile phones, may fall further after the company reported a 45 per cent drop in third-quarter profit and missed its sales forecast.

                                      Motorola, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, posted the slowest sales growth in five years after shipping fewer phones than it anticipated. Sales this period may not match analysts' average estimate of US$12.1 billion ($18.2 billion), the company said.

                                        Global domination of the Razr is running into some serious headwind in the coming quarters and at 85 percent of operating profits, investors will not be able to hide in upside from other business segments within Motorola," wrote American Technology analyst Albert Lin in a note to clients.

                                        Lin also said the company's new products mirror existing ones too closely.

                                        "Motorola competes with itself for the first time in years," he wrote. "Is there any doubt that the relatively low price of Krzr is going to leave the higher volume/higher margin Razr sales untouched?"
