I absolutely love my V3, all my friends think its awesome. They say I have the best phone. One has the inno55, one has E315, another V220 and another the E105. Mine is the most awesome of course. Such a great phone. I care for nothing more than the basic features and love the MP3 ringtones I can make!! For those of you who talk crap about how wide this phone is, did you ever take a nice look into that gorgeous 265,000 color huge screen? Anything you put on that screen looks so sweet. No other phone has a screen size that makes it stand out in awe like that. Unless you have a PDA. But think about it, this is a flip phone! To those who complain about it, get out those magnifying glasses to see your own screens.

I would love to know where the fools who write reviews for these things learn about their mobile phones. The review on this site (http://www.gsmarena.com/index.php3?sRedir=http://www.gsmarena.com/r_motorla_v3_review.php3) makes the same mistake many of the others reviewers make about the V3 and other Motorola phones. He/they seem to think that five seperate contact numbers for an individual means five seperate numbers in your address book. WRONG!!! Phone Book / Menu / Setup / View/ change All Contacts to Primary Contacts. Tada!!!!
As for the phone, it is superb but I agree more could have been done with the Vxxx UI. However, if you take into consideration how big it is, it has a superb spec and its the best looking phone out there.

Well the firmware sucks... But you can get it a tiny bit less user un-freindly by 'programming' the many shortcuts key available. (Thats about the only nice thing about the software though...)
But the hardware is good, not just good looking... Good sound, Good screen, Good keyboard, The internal antenna placed right...
I would just love to have the source and a compiler for the firmware... A few rearangements and less stupid T9 implementation would make it MUCH better.

To Mandy-I'm not a salesman...I'm just a college student who happens to like phones...just to make it clear. ^_^x
And about the beeping thing, go to ring styles, go to the details, look for the reminder option, and turn it off...that should stop the beeping.

i realy don't think that the problems are soft related.
it might be that the phone is too "crowded", making the phone too sensible....
i shoud like to crack open one (i am an electrical engineer and love to dismantle things)
damn' it realy makes me angry. it coud be such a nice gadget.
the soft "mobile phone tools" is realy the worst i ever met but that's another (sad) story. and btw i bought MPT "de luxe"...29$ thrown away.
well, like with girls, not very often they are beautiful AND smart...heheheheh

a few facts:
1. i love it when i got my first one.
2. after 6 hours the screen was a mess of lines and waves.
3. got it replaced with a new one.
4. loved it.
5. after 3 days the keypad died.
6. still love it and waiting for the replacement/
7. don't know if i'll be able to "survive" another dissapointment...

I called up Motorola & they said there is nothing they can do with the quiet speaker! All my friend's V3's have the same problem; I guess it must be some kind of software design fault!

Try look for other firmware version.
I haven't got the described problems on mine...
It's fairly easy to upgrade with the usb cable and some of the available software 'out there'
It took me a few hours to find the most appropriate software/firmware version for my purpose, and ten minuttes to upgrade.
If your using major languages there are several firmware versions available.
But only found one for danish ;-)
(Haven't saved the url's, sorry.)

Yes ann marie, sms entereing is EXTREMELY slow.
But the good news is the that the battery gets better after being charged and discharged a couple of times.
Keyboard repetition rate of a few strokes per second is really awful. My guess is that that the technicians have set this low rate to avoid mechanical contact-problems with the fancy keyboard. Might be the trade off for the nice looking keyboard....
Does anyone know if there is a hack where one could try to tune this? I could live with a few double strokes if I get a better repetition rate.

The speaker volume is too quiet even when I adjust it to the maximum of "7".
I suppose this is another fault of the V3. Can anyone help?

There is no way to turn off the message "BEEP". It is really annoying at night! My friends V80 & V600 do the same as my V3. Moto design is not so thoughtful!
