I do not think that this phone is stylish at all. As a matter of fact it looks wired to me. This phone is too square & too wide. Reaction is damn slow because of the crap software. Many more negative things not border to mention!

First thing about this mobile is that its' stylish and expensive, comparing to other mobiles in its own class. I got this mobile and I can say this mobile has only 2 weaknesses. Its storage is not enough and it doesnt record video.
But as I bought it I found it attractive to so many people. Besides its functionality satisfies my expectations. If you look for a stylish mobile I think that motoroka v3 is one of the best...

The V3 isnt worth what it costs, and the software is crap. BUT, despite having nuff problems with the keypad not lighting up i still ove it.

The phone is sweet (in a gangster way) and only players and pimps should have one. OH yea, and people that work phone shops.

SUMMARY = SHIT TO USE, SHIT FEATURES, SHIT BATTERY LIFE, SHIT SPEAKER QUALITY, BRILIANT DESIGN AND LOOKS

Right, for a start let me clear one thing up. This is one of the best looking phones on the market right now. Ive just had to take my 3rd one back to the shop and swapped it for a Nokia 7610 because on the Razr V3, there seems to be a BIG problem with the keypad. The top-left 'smart' button stops working after approx. 7 days usage! This has happened to me 3 times now and I can't be bothered to give Moto another try on the 4th... The first one I got, the keypad didnt work from the second I took it out of the box, the second one stopped after 3 days and the last one (which i took back today) lasted about 10 days! Pathetic! The earpiece vibrates when you have it up on volume 7 (which you need by the way because its waaaay too quiet) and sounds like there is a wasp flying about inside it! The distortion is terrible. Another bad point is that the processor is really slow! Writing a text message and deleting letters is a pain big time because after you have pressed any keys (such as delete) it takes the thing about 2 seconds to realise it. I really wished the phone worked correctly because I love the look of it but as mobiles go, this isn't good at all! I now have the Nokia 7610 and love it! Much much better built and the software is great! Dont buy the V3 on looks alone, trust me.

For the easiest way of network locking phone your SP and ask them to put a roaming bar on your phone, then just get it lifted and replaced each time you go on holiday - simple!!

                Thanks KiC74 :-)
(the 'again' was bottom part of text chopped due to illegal character)
I've had Simens, Ericssons, Nokias, Motorolas & Samsungs, but apearantly the wrong models then.
With all phones I know you can select a specific network manually, but the problem is the phone behaviour when this network gets to weak. I don't want to be asked to select a network over and over again. And IF another network IS chosen, I would like the phone to swap back to my home-network as soon as it is available again, NOT first when the foreign network gets to weak.

looks great ,,,, but im a bit dissapointed that motorola did not do much about the software that the v3 comes with ,,,,, it is the same as the v620 ,,, makes me wonder are we paying top dollar for the looks only ,,, id like to see some more features added ,,

                      Dear Mei Mei :

Glad to know that you finally found something you like. As I have heard, the SE K700i is an excellant all round phone. The price has settled after the past few months & I believe you are buying a bargain as this k700i cost less than half the price of the V3, but with a lot more usable functions.

Good for you! You made a wise choice! You save the price difference for some nice clothes!? OR take me out for dinner?(just kidding).

Anyway, it's nice to hear from you again.

                      regards,
                      Win Win

                          Dear Again,

For network locking (very practical on borders) at my kwnoledge U should by a SiEMENS!! the soft inside permit you to lock the Network or also Sony-Erickson or Nokia but you should verify depend maybe on the models ;)

                              - Batterycover difficult to reattach, anoying when swaping batteries

                              - Like (all?) other phones, manual network selction only allow to prefer networks, not to prohibit any. I live close to a border, and it cost a 'fortune' if foriegn network is used.

                                  Motorola V3, first hand impression

I've had MANY phones before, this I've had for almost a week now, and is the FIRST in many many years that only have a few minor problems!

Well yes the £300+ is expensive, but not compared to what you get. And NO, I do not refer to a lot of fancy stuff, but a very very good PHONE.

Infrared would have been nice in principle, even though I never used it on my previous ones. The USB cable for data AND charging is very convinient. Almost any pc got a USB. V3 also got BlueTooth.

A camera with this size of lens is a joke, but I expected the pictures to be much worse than they actually were.

A VERY clever thing (that I until now in vain have tried to propose to several phone-companies) is the placement of the internal antenna. It is NOT placed by the ear, but by the microphone. This prolongs battery-life (and reduces brain-toasting) due to the reduced mean effect needed, since the head is blocking less of the signal. The cheek occupying a fraction of the full spaceangle, and not half a hemisphere as standard by the whole scull.

But let me give a brief summary of good, neutrals and bads. A lot of stuff missing below could be because it's things I never use. (Wap, java, games, IM, MMS...).

                                  + Metal housing

                                  + 'Thinness'

+ Internal antenna placement by microphone

                                  + SEVEN programmable one-touch keys!!

                                  + Ten programmable two-touch shortcuts (90 three-touch!!)
                                  Menu + number

                                  + USB

                                  + BlueTooth

+ Inner screen. Good resolution, crisp display. (Not much sun here the passing week, so do not know how good/bad it is in worst conditions)

+ Outer screen does not go completely off, but keeps dim clock

                                  + Picture quality (considering lens-size)

+ Automatic profile switch when external power is supplied

                                  + Quad-band

+ Fairly easy to apply new firmware, no extra hardware needed.

                                  + Modem

+ When a sms can not be sent due to missing coverage, it is not lost.

o Phonewidth, The screen IS large, so not solely negative

                                  O Overall design

O many functions take quite a few keypresses to get to, but shortcuts can be created

o Weight. 95g is 'heavy' today, but not extreme like many competitors

                                  - One-touch key can not be assigned new sms *Fools!*

                                  - Not possible to lock side-keys when closed :-

i love eveything about it BUT..... it doesn't have a infrared port which is a reall downer! The style of the phone is straight out sexy and easy to use. The buttons are so futurestic and simple. don't need to push very hard. + i love how its so slim and lite.
