I have had this phone for 4 years and that is only because I am too poor to go and buy a new one or sign up for a new one on a contract which would change my plan.

At this point the battery life is pathetic, I might make it til noon if it lets me and that is with very minimal use. I have to charge it in my car on my way to work and on the way home just to attempt to have power til the end of the day.

Literately takes 5-10 minutes some times to do anything. I have no idea why. I have to use a antivirus/booster program just to keep it clean enough to use with any decent speed.

Some times when you takes pictures the phone just shuts off, or you might take a video then it corrupts it during its encoding.

Like most people said, the phone worked fine for a year then it started to go down hill. It is pretty durable but at this age, its pretty stubborn and useless.

Gorilla glass and kevlar case. The worst phone on the face of the earth is completely indestructible....go figger. Words fail me in describing what garbage this phone is!

I had this phone for 3 years now and it works like shit. It was great the first year but after that it started to freeze a lot when the wifi was activated. I just active it when I need to update my agenda and my apps but it take more than 1h to update 5 apps because of all the freezing stuff and process not responding. If the wifi is off, the phone is working ok to call and text someone but i don't do much more with my phone because all games are now incompatible with my phone and the most useful apps require to root the phone and I don't have a backup rom to restore it so I don't want to try. The battery last 2 days on standby without using the phone. If I use the wifi to update or talk to someone, the battery drop by 1% every 2 minutes. I will throw that phone in the ocean the day I will change to another one.

I've had this phone for over 3 years and it works well. I finally broke it and had to end up getting a new phone through Virgin Mobile Smart Plan which still cost me $100 to get the replacement. As this model was still in stock I did not get an upgraded phone which is okay because my husband and I bought identical phones as we tend to swap as needed if one isn't charged. But yes, it does lag the more apps you put on it, and sometimes it freezes if you get too fast in switching from app to app. But Motorola should realize that there are people who still have these phones and either don't want a new phone or can't afford to get a new phone every year. An update to jellybean would be wonderful so that my apps work like they are supposed to.

I've had this phone for over 2 years now. It was actually quite a good phone at the time and was quite cheap ($200 in 2013) considering its specifications and features. No real problems, but occasionally it will freeze up and if the screen has water on it (like rain), it goes crazy. I am still getting 2 days battery usage out of it, but this is on GSM mode only and not using it often. On 3G mode and with a bit of usage the battery life is now around 4 to 8 hours, so I tend to leave it on GSM until I need 3G network. Since new I've had a plastic hard cover and screen protector on it and have dropped it numerous times from less than 1m and it still works fine.

Love the camera. But like any phone too many apps slow it down. Needs to be rooted to save to SD. WTF is with that?

One of the tiredest, saddest, hanging-up P.O.S. on the market today. Takes as long to boot up as Windows. Likes to freeze up, no matter how clean you keep it, especially during a 911 emergency

I believe another way to update this device to Android 4.1.2 and make it more bearable is to flash the sbf for the Motorola Electrify 2 (XT881), since both devices are one and the same. http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=16

Almost an awesome phone...but half way through production, Motorola said "fuck it, we are over budget" and they gave up... software issues galore. Downloading mobile 360 security app its the pinky way I've found to make this phone bearable.

sam, 21 Apr 2014My xt 885 is shut down in regular interval automatically, ... moreYes, software hang ups are the weakness of this phone. Installing mobile 360 security can shut off all of the back ground faulted processes. Your phone week be instantly like new, although temporary...

To me it is rubbish for the original price, something that could easily have been excellent.

People always complain about my call quality, particularly if some noise like aircon is around, or if I use it on one side of my face versus the other. What of all this superior moto call quality?

The 4GB internal memory gets mostly chewed up by the system and included apps. I have very little on the phone and everything I can in a SD card, like photos dcmi directory, and regularly get down to around 200MB left which causes the phone to grind down. The lack of install to external SD card, or move part of an app to the card, is like a crime. My phone has been hacked even though this no external SD was supposed to help stop this. My important app data is trapped in the phone to me to backup but not to hackers it seems.

Update killed all my data, no update for ages. Gets slow, needs some newer features.

Phone locks some user data into it, and no Motorola program to get it out and back it up. So, the user/phone information apps are not up to scratch, and make various little things awkward.

Leaked battery and battery going. Usb port on top is a good target for rain.

Most of this can be solved with a simple update.

As is, this expensive phone was not woath the over $400 original price, but barely the over $200 price I paid for it new in store. You should examine phones you buy for the issues above, and avoid those with them.

Gopro suggests that Motorola os4 is ok for using the gopro app. The other suggestion is droid. Does this mean my xt885 can support gopro app as a remote monitor? So far no good. Any input would be appreciated thanks
