razrguy, 30 Apr 2013so does calling and sms work after without any problems? C... moreYes, SMS and phone calling work normally with the Australian retail rom because those features depend on your sim card, not the software. The only trouble is that you may not automatically get the APN setting for your mobile data, so you may have to manually enter the APN setting like I did. If you don't know what is the APN settings for bell or Wind, take a snapshot on the setting page first. So you can follow the snapshot of the APN page to manually enter the settings for your mobile data to work after updating to Jellybean. Apart from this, everything works just perfectly.

jellybean 4.1.2 is now available for the Australia retail version. I update it through OTA last night. I brought mind in Canada with the bellmobility ICS OS. I flashed the Australia Retail ICS OS software into my Razr V using RSD lite and last night I got a notification for update to Jellybean 4.1.2. If any of you guy out there is stuck with your Bells or Wind Mobile Razr V and never receive jellybean 4.1.2 update, you can do what I did. Try to flash the Australia Retail ICS rom into your Razr V XT-855 and you will get update to Jellybean 4.1.2 right way.

QBIX, 10 Apr 2013Been Using since Dec. 2012. Can't wait to get rid of it. Ti... moreI don't know why people are coming the poor Wi-Fi reception of this phone. I have no problem connecting Wi-Fi to this phone wherever there is a Wi-Fi connection. However, I did have problem with the touch screen at the beginning. The touch screen was not response in most of the situation. However, I got rid of the Bell ICS OS software and flashed the Australia Retail ICS OS into my phone, now the touch screen responses in every situation and the phone runs very fluid. Also, Jellybean 4.1.2 update will be available in Australia shortly within April , although it may not be available in Canada. After upgrading to Jellybean, this phone will be even better.

Been Using since Dec. 2012. Can't wait to get rid of it. Tired of looking for that special spot in the house to have reception and battery life hardly lasted a whole day.

5 months of using this phone would amount to a decent amount of hands-on experience...except that for 3 of those months, phone was in repair hell and is headed there again. Don't buy, nothing but trouble.

Has very poor ability to pick up signal.I am in a flat rural location only 4 kms from the transmitter, this phone often does not work here, whilst other phones do.
My much loved old flip razr had no problems at the same location. This phone cost twice the old phone I certainly did not expect this problem, so it is a fail.

I have personally a set of Motorola RAZR V XT885, on Canada's Bell Mobility data plan. Its reception is perfect, battery life is acceptable and above average for something internal based and so thin. The screen is beautiful, it perceives vibrant and accurate, not overly saturated like Samsung's or a bit dull and less contrasted like HTC's. The size is perfect as well, justifying its "kevlar-grade" built quality, which I think is fair enough to say so. I am not experiencing any call volume issues, both parties at both ends hear each other perfectly through the phone's hands-free and speakerphone. The overall performance of this phone, is much granted by its high price-to-performance ratio, which for only MSRP 300 dollars, you get an android 4.x.x with dual core processing power. What I personally like is that it takes in mini-sim (I laugh at those who say it uses a full-size, I mean, seriously...?), so it is compatible with most prepaid sim cards if one was to travel abroad without international coverage/roaming plans. Overall I recommend this phone, it is a keeper.

Why is the daily viewer interest that low? how does it compare with the sony phones price to feature wise? the non removable battery is a matter of concern, isn't it?

Decent phone only if you get it very cheap. Average/poor microphone and speaker. Only 2GB internal flash. Otherwise decent.

Work @ phone store, 10 Feb 2013This has a Full sized sim not a mini sim... be careful- no... moreA full-sized SIM is the size of a credit card. No modern phone uses a full-sized SIM.

The specs here are correct; the SIM is a mini SIM. Not to be confused with a micro SIM which is what you meant.

You should know this if you work@phone store!

Last "cellular phone" use full size SIM card that I knew was back at early 1990's (CMIIW, maybe some "PABX card" still using it these days) Source :

Mini Sim is the standard sim we see. Actual sim used to be credit card size.

small amount of memory means app to sd is needed. you may get frustrated with internal memory filling up quickly. apart from this, quite a bargain!

This phone uses full size SIM card, not micro SIM.

(also, what is mini SIM GSMArena?)
