I flashed the Australian ICS onto my Wind mobile RAZR V, my phone won't connect to Wind Home anymore though, only Wind Away. Does anyone know a possible fix or is it because the Australian ROM doesn't support the 1700 AWS band that Wind Mobile uses? My phone isn't unlocked either, maybe that would help? Thanks!!

razrguy, 26 May 2013yea im not upgrading yet to jelly bean from AU as im waitin... moreI am using AU jellybean now and It is not laggy at all. It i ssmootehr and faster than ICS from Bell. Also it resolves my touch screen resposiveness problem. Overall, it is better than Bell ICS.

[deleted post]yea im not upgrading yet to jelly bean from AU as im waiting for moto to confirm if there upgrading CA ICS. I was trying Wind to solve wifi problem. Also i heard AU Jelly Bean lags and is buggy.

I have tested it by clicking *#*#4636#*#* and set the network to LTE(prefered)/WCDMA/GSM. after this setting, I am still getting 3G/H+(4G)but no LTE. I believe there i sno LTE radio chip inside the phone or the TIOMAP processor does not support LTE. I have it unlocked and I am using it with Rogers network. However, even with 4G but not LTE, the download speed is still quite fast on data.

i am using xt885 with virgin canada,network symbol on top right corner mostly indicates 3G or H+ however i live in LTE zone, doest it show LTE to any one with this phone? please also mention which provider u r with?

i got this phone second hand unlocked from market dont have the box i am still not sure if it supports LTE or not!! i called virgin they told me it comes in two types one is 4g and other is LTE how to find out which one is mine?? i am not even sure information they game me is accurate.

AnonD-142347, 05 May 2013thanks, I was able to download RSD lite 6.0 and australian ... moreWhen you download the Australian ICS file, it is a Zip file and you just save it into your computer and extract it to a folder in your computer. You also download and install the RSD lite into the computer. When you run the RSD lite, A window will open.You then insert the file that you extracted by clicking the little button beside the filename slot. The file is a fast boot file and is of the type XML.You will see the software information on the file properties window of the RSD lite program. Then when you click start, the phone will start flashing and it will reboot after flashing finish. Hope this help.

just another thing i noticed specs of this phone says mini-sim but mine required bigger sim actually i has s3 before which took mini sim but when i bought xt885 i had to get an adopter to fit my mini sim and my minisim with adopter went in xt885.

I have flashed the Wind Razr V OS Rom into my phone because my Razr V has some touch screen responsiveness problem with the Bellmobility OS, but it did not help much so I flashed back to the Bell mobility rom from Wind. Finally I flashed the Austrailian Retail OS into my Razr then the touch screen problem dissapeared and I also got OTA notification on April 17 that I could update to Jellybean and there I had it. So,you could always flashed different rom as long as it is for the same phone( No cross flashing) and it is at the same level of software. I.e ICS to ICS, but not ICS to Gingerbread or Jellybean to ICS. So you are flashing from ICS to ICS , you should be ok. But remember that once you have updated to ICS, you have cannot flash back to ICS. I dont know whether the OTA is stilll available or not as it has been out for 2 weeks already so good luck, hope you can have your phone updated like I did.

I love the design but this phone has poor ability to get a signal and has poor battery life. Can't wait to get rid of this phone!

anotherrazrvuser, 30 Apr 2013Hey, can you write down the steps u used to update to the A... moreFirstly, download the flash tool for Motorola devices called 'RSD lite 6.Search from the web or Xda developer web site to obtain the download link.
Secondly, download the Australian Retail ICS rom from the following web link:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_yangtze/list.php.
Thirdly, turn on USB debut from your phone.Turn off your phone. Press power, volume up and volume down button at the same time and let go when you see a list of options appear on the phone screen. Use volume down to scroll down to AP fastboot mode.Use volume up to select AP fastboot. Connect your phone to the micro USB and your PC while on AP fastboot mode. Open RSD lite, select the ICS rom you just downloaded, click start button and let it do the job until it finish.
Be careful about bricking your phone if you are not fully familiar with the procedures, I suggest you search from the internet to see the actual procedures to flash roms into Motorola razr using RSD lite as I am nor responsible for any damage to your phone due to improper procedures used during flashing.
