this phone is what will make motorola back in the mobile multimedia entertainment once again given that SE and nokia dominates most(sad because UIQ phones isn't as widespread as s60 now). i am very eager to see the review of motorola z8 in this site. but hoping that the problems in UIQ 3.0 has been fixed in the 3.1 version... and hope for more UIQ devices to be launched by motorola and SE...

ATG please stfu if motorola start to sue nokia and other brands by copying their design concepts, they will need to sue sony ericsson, samsung, Lg and etc.

ArrayComm build the first bar phone ever, so they can sue every brand!!!

if everyone start to sue others for something, in a few weeks we will see p.e.n.i.s shapped phones because there is no more basic shapes without copyrights to build phones!!!

hey guys, motorola's slim mobile profile indeed has caused a huge trendm that resulted in COPYCATS!!!!

FOr exp, SAMSUNG the big copier with the ultra edition.. Nokia, N75 izit?? SE w880i.. LG shine... Motorola is a pioneer in design, other manufacutres just copy off moto's design..

lol, ultra edition, thinking of it makes me sick

            lol, cheeeers for MOTO!!!!!

You know what the great thing is about the RIZR Z8? It will come down in price really fast just like the RAZR V3s. Carriers will be giving big discounts on them with 2 yr contracts.

Also I don't know why some people are getting all bent out of shape because the phone "only" has a 2MP camera. Sure they could've added a higher MP camera but it would've probably made it more expensive.

I'm pretty sure they'll come out with Z8i, Z8r, Z8x etc. with higher MP cameras in the future like the V3s. If high MP camera is your thing then buy a different phone.

PLENTY of people will be buying the Z8. It will probably be as popular as the V3 when it came out.

I really like what Motorola has offered in terms of style and functionlity in their phones. I would buy a Motorola over a Nokia 9 out of 10 times and I'm not even a Motorola "fan". In fact I like NEC phones myself and will be getting the NEC N908. I will also be getting a LG CU500 because it's only $50 now with Cingular.

if nokia is a copycat, so what, their phones are usable by every1. to use a SE / MOTO / Siemens / O2 / Palm, you need to think, 'coz their menu structures are intuitive, to say the least...
improvement, and this is not copied...

if they copy something, why does not moto or other company file cases for patent infringement?

                ask yourself...

                      Motorola Z8 Hands On
                      February 12 John Biggs

Got some quality time with the Z8. It’s quite similar to the RIZR but it has this little kink in it that folds it over when you open it. The OS, which is Symbian, is much improved over the standard RAZR garbage. Is this the phone to bring Moto out of their doldrums? Potentially. It’s interesting and improved enough to be contender.

Video of The Motorola Z8 In Action: Weird Curved Design

Sometimes all the pictures in the world just don't do a phone justice. Case in point, the Motorola Z8. Motorola's demoing it over at 3GSM and letting ethically challenged journalists feel it up. Of note is the curved design and the fact that the interface doesn't completely suck, quite possibly a first for a Motorola cellphone. – Nicholas Deleon

                      Motorola Z8 slices in
Picked by Caspar Field on February 13th, 2007 in News

Another of the funkier handsets announced at 3GSM is Motorola’s new MOTORIZR Z8, complete with ‘kick-slider’ mechanism. The sharp-edged handset’s face-friendly lines bend around to match the shape of your head. (Personally, I prefer my phone to match the shape of my knee; makes for more interesting calls.)

The Z8’s sharp style isn’t just skin-deep, however, as the phone runs the Symbian OS; supports up to 4GB microSD cards; has a 2.2″ QVGA screen; a 2MP camera; and boasts high-speed connectivity via HSDPA. Stereo Bluetooth is also supported for music playback over compatible headsets.

Expect to see the Z8 hit stores sometime around April.

Mr PDLx, it is as if you did not read what I wrote in my previous posting. I said your VIEWS cannot be trusted because of your obsessive bias towards Moto. One of your views is that Nokia's mobiles are junk. You have stated this time without number. To continuously condemn all the phones of a company especially one that has given satisfaction to many is simply malicious propaganda. The list of achievements of Moto, I am not disputing. In fact I am pleased. They have made a valuable contribution. However, they have not made the only contribution. Other companies worked hard to make modern mobile communication a progressive reality. PDLx, Moto's Z8 does not exist in isolation. It is right that it should be compared and contrasted with other phones. You cannot bully or hunt down people who disagree with certain aspects of the phone. For instance it is a fact that Moto have underpowered the camera. There are plenty of phones in Moto's product range. They could have put the lousy 2MP in them. The Z8 was expected to be state-of-the-art and consequently should have a better camera. What is wrong with a customer wanting pictures to look sharper on a multimedia device??? PDLx, Moto were not the original inventors of the phone. They built on someone else's invention. PDLx you do not understand the concept of critical appraisal. To continuously praise Moto without pointing out the flaws is mischievous and misleading. By illucidating the flaws, Moto will correct them and get better and better. You are an enemy of progress and a hinderance, not a help to Moto. If I was Moto, I would drop you like a bad habit.

"Motorola Fan's" will agree with me about what i type here.

                                      Some of "Motorola Innovations":
                                      - Motorola the First Tattooed Mobile Phone (Nokia copy cat)
                                      - Motorola the First Dual hinge Mobile Phone (Nokia copy cat)
                                      - Motorola the First Swivel Mobile Phone (Nokia copy cat)
                                      - Motorola the First Slim Flip Mobile Phone (Nokia copy cat)

                                      =============================================
After discussions with reasonable people on this forum it is clear that different people will like different phones from different companies.
                                      =============================================
Which Fan's? Look and open your eyes. "Nokia Fan's" doesn't agree with that following their posting.

Read carefully all the posting. What "Nokia Fan's" said un-fact "Motorola Rizr Z8" copy from "Nokia Banana". "Motorola" slow because "Micro SD" or bla... bla... Is "Nokia Fan's" doesn't look mirror about "Nokia Product"? "Nokia E90" use "Micro SD" too.

Yes, phone companies copy from each other and this has speed up technical development because they can all make contributions into a general pool. In this case i talk "Motorola is pioner in design and technology". Read carefully, i don't said "Only Motorola is Pioner in design and technology".

                                        Hahaha...
I can type anything about Motorola because this is "Motorola Forum". If you disagree is up to you and go to other brand forum. Propaganda? All i type has source and facts. Who make war here? Of course "Nokia Fan's" and other brand. Who make propaganda here? Of course "Nokia Fan's" and other brand. I am not said "Motorola are the only innovators".

Same as like what "Motorola website" type "Motorola is known around the world for innovation and leadership in wireless and broadband communications." Can you complain about that statement to Motorola? Hahaha... I think you just can doubt. "Motorola is leader in innovations." Some "Official Motorola website" write about that statement. Can you complain to Motorola? Hahaha... Just can doubt.

                                        Tell me "What Nokia Innovation?"
