Flashing the phone will delete every file you have in the phone. It is recommended to put the files (pictures, music etc) in the memory card. The memory card will not be affected.
The messages and contacts will also be deleted so it is recommended to put them in SIM card or backup them in the PC.
The SIM will not be affected as well.
For a tutorial how to flash your phone I wrote a .doc file. GSMARENA hasn't got the option to upload files here so everyone interested just send your emails at kinurabi@gmail.com and I will send the file. Its with screen shots :)

To record conversations while you talk pres the voice key in the side. Its easy :). The file will be saved as .amr. BTW you can apply amr as ringtones. In fact you can use every audio file that E2 supports as ringtone.

ya quest katz is better&faster than ultimate but katz1 has the loudest sound i ever tried with e2,i tried katz2 the same as katz1 but has lower sound even when using the volume table file coming with the firmware..about jack it is a long story to tell how to install firmware!! i have mentioned it before in this preview..ok again..u have to get rsd lite progaram3.0 program,download it(dont tell me where&how) i really forget the site! install it into ur pc>unzip the katz file(firmware file 4 example)2 any place in ur pc u will get sbf file> open rsd lite> close ur fone>press the side sound command bottom in the same time with power one>u will get red screen shows (usb flash mod)>connect ur fone to pc>rsdlite detects it>through rsd lite search bar browse ur pc to where u save the sbf file>press start.the program will install the file..it lasts 4 15 to 20 min do exactly what the program tell u..in such way u install new firmware..thanks

hey quest, how do i install these ultimate or katze firmwares?is it hard?what kind of connection setting do i need in my usb setting..and what are the drivers & softwares that are needed?and last thing, will all my messages, files be erased when i change my firmware?tnx

Also Katze has increased volume especially when using the headset

Katze2 has an advantage over Ultimate in the speed. It is overclocked and works faster however the Ultimate has a better GUI applications wich makes them easier to handle. The applications that Ultimate has are very handy.

ok ahmed..i dnt see any myskin folder in my file manager..maybe my firmware is not qualified..so how can i upgrade the firmware?they have this thing called ultimate & katze2..which one is better?
and what are the things to do when upgrading?will it damage my phone?
give me instructions to change my firware...thanks man

u mean telenet ur fone to install themes ? no..there is easier way to install themes just what i said before.. again download the skin from(http://www.e2mod.com/)..unzip it..u have two files skin file and chm file..of course unzip them in the memory card..copy the chm> unrecognized files(in the file manger)> my skin>setuptheme>paste..copy skin>unrecognized files>my skin>skin>paste..but first of all u have to upgrade ur fone with a modern firmware (i recommend katz1 46p).. about rsd light program i have it version 3.2 i downloaded it free..http://www.modmymoto.com...http://motohell.com/ are good sites for e2..firmwares,skins programs 4 e2 are available in these sites..thanks

yeah, u have to download RSD lite (from where), then u hav to establish a so-called telnet connection (how?is it free), then u hav to download a lot of softwares..not to mention u will hav to register first in their stupid websites to do those things..
I JUST WANT A THEME?Why do i have to go through all these?
I didnt experience this on my symbian phones..

e-mod guys...how do u do all those stuff?how can we flash the phone?how can we change the firmware?the instructions are all complicated..now they have this RSD Lite?where on earth can i download it to upgrade my firmware?
this is a cool phone..but im losing my coolness just to download a theme..
AND WHAT DO U MEAN BY MOD?is this site supported by motorola?what the hell is modding...

hey ahmed, where can i find the unknown-my skin & the chm file?when i download theme, it's a rar file..i'm using the mass storage option on my usb setting...

4 GB cards can be used too
lesser voltage cards (not strong kingston cards)

Just so you know there are some 4gb SD cards that work. The transcend 150x card works.
There are easier resources for the E2, E6, Z6 phones. Go to www.freemod.net plenty of skins/themes with easy instructions. e2mod's instructions makes it a big risk at bricking the phone. The simple way is available at freemod forum.

same pc URL has two owners..!! reply to each other through the same URL..no problem..!!but stop attack rokr e2..!!what is the difficult of installing themes in e2?is coping the skin file to unknown>my skin>skin..&its chm file to unknown>my skin>skin setup..is that hard to do?! i do not know what to say about the video quality but every body watched my rokr e2 told me it looks like a tv screen..choose a good 3gp convertor and let us see..
