I have had this phone less than a year and the hinge has already went out to the point it makes you miss calls. I have a friend that has had three different Tundras with the same problem. For the money they are JUNK!!!!!

On my second one after the hinge broke on the first one. Now the hinge is making that same groaning, clicking noise the first one was making when it broke. I'm going to get something else.

Took this phone to Afghanistan, rugged as hell, dropped, kicked, subject to explosion shockwaves, still worked. Good phone for Military use.

I have a Tundra and am experimenting with a Samsung Ruby II - both with AT&T. The Tundra is clearly the better phone. The Rugby II has poor cellular signal indoor penetration. I have been in buildings where the Rugby II did not have any signal or service but the Tundra gave me all my bars and had excellent call quality. This occurs also in my own home. I think the difference is that the Tundra has the external antenna.

I feel the Motorola is overpriced and over rated!! Used it for several months, hinge broke under normal use-sent it to Motorola for repair, as it had a year warrenty. They sent it back to me stating "mis use" and did not fix it.Sure expected to get more than 10 months use out of a "heavy duty, indistructible, expensive phone" that out military uses. I will NOT be buying any more Motorola phones!! They are not that great, and the warrenty is useless.

I should say that it is terribly over priced. No phone is worth $179 after rebate and with 2 year contract. Moto went on the cheap with this bandit, even omitting a back cover lock.
Multimedia font is far too small, requiring you to use its options menu for the zoom. It only has advanced call reception to offer, and if that is a major factor for you, then buy it! as Lee Iococa used to say.

I did a water test and now people can only hear me on speaker phone. its slow and moto should have kept the same format as the v551, razor and v365. I say buy 4 v365's off of ebay at $50 bucks each, and when you destroy one, go the the next. should get 3 or 4 years of use. I dropped my v365 and lost all my songs and stuff so i went to the tundra, which sucks. Ive gotten approved for a new one but gonna wait on the rugby II. I think it is a better phone from what im seeing. I say just buy a good used phone and save ur money, unless u want an Iphone or something. I just need a phone that gets good reception and is loud and a little bit tough. don't buy the tundra.

It made past the 14 days with normal use on a full charge. I am trying a BT90 battery just to see how long it will mantain a charge. The BT90 puts 1800 M/ah compared to The BT60 puts 1100 M/ah. I just wish they made a deeper back to accomodate the BT90. The factory back is to shallow.

I don't know what you guys are doing to this Tundra but it is definately not normal use. Kinda scary when you think about the options you have for use of this phone. I am a construction worker. My phone has been dropped from over 30 feet on several occasions....still works! It has neen rained on and dropped in mud puddles more times than I can count.....still works! It has fallen off the bed rail of my truck on at least 5 occasions....still works! Now if you all are looking for a little dainty computer touch screen phone that looks rugged and you want it to make you look rugged too then come out of the closet, buy one of the pink or neon green phones and own up to what you really are. As for a real working man that wears a tool bag and works every day in the hot sun and sweats alot on my self and my Tundra I say It's one of the toughest phones I have ever had! Maybe if it would talk to you all that dislike it would find it more appealing. Especially if it talked real sweet!

I had some trouble getting the Tundra to hold a charge for more than 6 hrs. I have a cousin that works at the local AT&T store so I went to her for info.
Having the ringer and vibrate on at the same time causes the phone to discharge rapidly. After being on the internet just punching the hang up key leaves cookies open (causes the battery to loose charge) so exit out of the internet with the exit key.
After taking care of these 2 things My meter still shows full charge after 2 days. I'll see if it makes it the 14 days as advertised.
Other than the charge issue the phone has been great with no other problems.

I like the phone, but I can't get rid of the sounds when going from one application to another. I read the manual and can't find it. I don't want clicking or buzzing or any noise while taking pictures, etc.

I feel the same EXACT way that robotfist does. I too have just purchased one of these after spotting it in the AT&T store and I am utterly disappointed! I would like to love it (really I would). I thought it was going be just what I have been looking for “a well crafted, durable high quality PHONE”. I do not need a web browser, mp3 player, rocket launcher or coffee maker… I just want a good quality PHONE! Endless streams of useless software menus do not impress me. In fact, in most cases… less is better!
I bought this to upgrade my trusty old Samsung SGH-X427 that I got free some 8 years ago. There was nothing wrong with my old phone, with the exception that is has been submerged underwater (3 times), kicked, dropped and beaten to the point where it is shameful looking, BUT IT STILL WORKS loud and clear and has NEVER failed. Best of all… it is a PHONE! No frills.
I have been scared to replace my trusty but aging friend because of fear of “buyer’s remorse” and man do I have that now! The Tundra looks great and appears to be well built, the sound quality is crap and it does not last long on a charge. The menu system is endless and filled with such useless clutter it is annoying. The camera button on the side is a pain because every time I grab it to remove it from the holster, it goes into camera mode and takes snap shots. The software locks up and it is fussy about Bluetooth compatibility. Bottom line… I hate it!!!
I will most likely try to return it to my local AT&T store where I bought it and go back to my old phone.
Waste of money!

TechEditor, 25 Oct 2009This phone has some major issues. Yes, it's durable. But th... moreGood Points. What I hate the most is the inconveniences with the Phone book. I have several categories in my other phone (with almost 800 phone numbers) and this phone you can't do anything simple with it. I'll take my poor reception and dropped calls with my worn out Razr v3 any day. The Tundra is crap in a durable case.

phone is the fakest rugged phone i ever experienced..i feel motorola just used the rugged theme for a marketing tool..made the phone looked beef up to sell it..thing is not rugged one bit..i never even put it in a industrial/construction enviroment and clam shell doesnt close right....now the screen is black....att is total crap..told me that its considered physical damage and wont honor the 1 year warranty..i argued that physical damage is damage that can be seen..not with att...i argued its internal mechanical damage..they didnt care..att stinks..go with another carrier..and dont get this phone..its a total rugged fake

At&t Motorola Tundra sucks. At&t takes over 1/2 of my phone book with propaganda that I can not delete. Also makes a terrible noise when starting up and shutting down. Sluggish too.
