I got this phone from Rogers (Canada) back in Jan. 2009.
I regret to say that 8months later Aug. 2009 it is DEAD!
Apparently it the whole "RUGGED CONSTRUCTION
Mil Spec 810F for heat, cold, dust, vibrations, shocks, drops and water resistance" is a lot of bull.
This phone may have been water resistant to 1Meter for 30minutes when brand new, but 8months later it died of water damage in a jug of beer. It turns out this phone has an Achilles heel that is its hinge, the greenish plastic crumbles and damages the ribbon running between the two LCD's killing them both.
The mil spec issue aside, the phone was great, bulky but great. Found a guy who claims he'll fix it for $65 CDN just waiting to see what my buddys experience with the guy is and whether he'll see his iPhone 3G ever again...

Need clarification people.....i want to get this phone but i live in australia.

The spec says its GSM compatible but i want to make sure before i get one. Can any of you confirm that it will work on the GSM network in Australia?

Im just a bit unsure as i wanted the other models that they brought out but they were all for Nextel(IDEN) which meant that they wouldn't work in Australia.

      You clarification is appreciated.

Just got a Tundra. It has best sound of any phone I've ever had. Tested the NoiseCancelling: called my home answering machine from crowded, noisy, coffee-shop, music in background etc. Played it back home, sounded like I was calling from a library. Same when I get a call. Amazing, clear, clear, clear.
Reception is terrific, got a call in an elevator in Manhattan in a building 110 years old with brick walls thick as a tree trunks.
It has a great feel in the hand, the hard rubbery case makes it very secure to grip, I LIKE the weight and substantial feel of it. Yet I can carry it in my pocket.
Buttons are large, recessed in middle, easy to dial, screen is very sharp and bright. I use the Talking Menu function for finding contacts - very handy to use while walking or driving (though I try not to talk on phone while driving. VERY DANGEROUS HABIT - speakerphone or no.
Speakerphone on the Tundra is very easy to hear clearly.
As far as all the other apps and functions cell phones have now: it's not a SmartPhone. It's a Phone-Phone. And it does that remarkably well for me. If the other is important, you should buy a SmartPhone.
          Anyway: A+ Very Satisfied.

My husband received his Tundra about 3 weeks ago and hasn't had any problems with it. He accidentally tested out the ruggedness of the phone as well. About a week after he got his phone, he was building a pad for a house and accidently dropped his phone. He didn't know it until he went to make a call and couldn't find it. We looked everywhere for it and found in about an inch below the surface of the pad, in the middle of the track from the back-hoe. He had run over the phone with the back-hoe. After he picked up the phone, he blew off the dirt with an air compressor and the made the call. Even after being run over with the back-hoe and covered with dirt/rocks, there are no scratches and the phone works fine. We would recommend this phone to anyone who works in a construction/heavy industry environment where a phone usually takes a lot of abuse.

Motorola became straight garbage. This phone is topic of recession. Trying to make this product a Niche product? I wonder whos the product developer of motorola, theres a certain group that phone manufactures try to target with every product produced. This phone targets construction workers. Bad marketing B

The antenna is a major weak point on this phone. I love it, but the antenna is simply pushed into a recepticle with weak plastic and pops off easily, breaking the antenna wire. Nearly any lateral stress to the antenna will cause this. I have had older phones with antenna that were virtually soldered on and would require a hammer to break off. Not so with the Tundra. VERY weak point. Mine already returned due to this, likely just from sitting down with it in my holster. DON'T GET THIS PHONE. Otherwise, it works great...but this is a serious problem on a supposed rugged phone. Get the Rugby, not this. The flip design is stupid as well, because it is just another weak point. They PAY people to design these things!? I could do much, much better.

100 Moto, 20 May 2009Some things being installed in the phone like ringtones and... moreWell yes i can, but the contact's for AT&T alone, (6 of them) take up screen realestate (1 full screen)That not all useres of the phone need. and as far as the demo games go, there just in the way.
This phone had construction (job site) persons in mind, and most that i know that would have a use for the reggit phone would not be playing games on a phone of this type. (iphone yes)

It realy just boils down to the user haveing no say in the type of set up he/she wants. that all.
All they have to do is to ENABLE a deleat for what you do not have a need for. But i thank there's sale's after the sale, like buying space.
I should have only paiyed 1/2 for the phone if if 1/2 is mine and 1/2 is outhers. :)
