The pictures make it look really good! But it is shocking, its all plastic, over 1/2 a centimetre thicker than the original RAZR and I have heard people are having trouble opening and closing the thing. You would think Motorola would start producing good phones after all they do get most of their ideas from Samsung. I was really looking forward to getting this phone when all along it is just like all of Motorola’s other phones, shite!

why doesnt everyone just shut up?!?!
i dont see the point in comparing a motorola to a nokia, or siemens, or sharp or anything! every single phone is different. people dont want crappy comparisons to completely other phones..it makes no sense and isnt helpful at all.
i came here looking for useful comments bout the motorola v3x...so far all ive heard is 'blah blah nokia, blah blah siemens, blah blah the battery isnt as good as nokia, blah blah'....
if i wanted to know about a NOKIA...i would look up a NOKIA PHONE!!!!!!!!
so, anyone have any worthwhile comments about this MOTOROLA V3X?!

interface could be better but you get past it fairly fast

This phone rocks!
Give the V3x a try with a stereo USB headset or stereo Bluetooth (HT820) headset. Both work beyond expectation.
Plays mp3 songs from memory or transflash.

I always expect mobiles to get smaller in time, especially the RAZR series not bigger! its bigger than the original! how disappointing!

Don't bother getting this phone if you're serious about using it. Ways to make it crash:
1. Try and synchronise your phone book from your PC to your phone, then try and voice dial. You can't. Only digit dial works.
2. Set one of your contacts to have a "video call" number, then try to re-edit their details. You can't. You have to delete it from your phone book.
2a. If that contact has called you, if you change their number to a video number, say goodbye to your Recent Calls list (dialled calls still works though).
3. When selecting text message recipients, type the first few letters of your recipient really fast. The phone will reset, and you'll lose your message.
4. Get someone to send you something via bluetooth, like a picture, or a contact, or something. You have to press the right hand button to accept the connection, then the left hand button to accept the file, then the middle button to acccept the file into your phone. Intuitive? I think not. This story is common throughout the phone: the "OK"- and "Cancel"-type buttons swap positions a LOT.
Sure, it's sexy, it's got the appeal of the rest of the V3 series, and it's got a great speaker for ringtones and removable memory facility. But a serious phone it is not.
(This is from a 5+ year motorola user, who is about to switch to a Nokia.)
If you want to use every feature of the phone, expect a lot of crashes.

I want to buy this phone in the next few days, however the UI isn't good, but has anyone bought the vodafone version. I also have some questions:
- Is the battery as bad as you all say?
- Are the ringtones 24-chord only?
- Is the vodeo quality OK?
- Is the sound comparable with SE K750i?
- Can you connect wired headphones and listen to mp3's?
- Is the bluetooth working fine?
- Is there an iTunes support?

To Sabit... first of all i doubt you have any authority to decide what to call the phone. 2ndly, it does look a lot like the v3 but with extra functionality and power thus the more the size required.
Look at it this way... are you gonna demand that we do not call the BMW 7 series a BMW bcos it's bigger than the 3 series?
Come correct next time homie and no whining please.

On the whole the phone is ok however I find that when you try to view the received and dialled numbers in the call log menu it reverts you back to the previous page, even though I know that I have dialled and received calls. Has anyone else had this problem....?

first of all its great but shouldnt be called v3(x) because v3 was intended on being slim but this phone is not really that slim but for 570 aus dollars its pretty cheap, cheaper than the normal v3

In regards to rainbow's comments. I am very suprised that 3 swapped your phone when the whole V3 series has this issue with not being able to access their phone book. If a number is saved without a name addressed to it, the phonebook cannot be accessed until the entry is deleted. From memory to delete the nameless contact you press 1 then # or vice versa and that solves the problem.

I have had this phone for a while, I think it is great. I have not had any problems with my BT, the only problem that I have had is that when trying to access my contacts it would sometime return me back to the main screen. I took the phone back to the 3 shop and they replaced it, no problems.
Battery life is a bit crappy for a 3g phone only lasts 1.5 days max.
SE K608 is better but a bit of an ugly phone and not as clever.
Best bit is that the voice activation does not need setting.
I have been using a 3g phone for 3 or 4 years and it is the best yet.

guys guys guys, and ladies, what is wrong!!
This is a great phone, YES granted the battery life is not as good as a "Nokia 6230" but your comparing a 2.5g phone to a 3g handset, of course the battery life won't be as good!
All i can say is so far i've had no problems with the bluetooth(try taking out the battery to sort it out),The only problem i've had is that the phone is restarting a little when opened and closed this is being sorted out by 3uk and they have given me a damn good deal to stay with them another year!
Reception is great aswell, runs on O2 network without hassle, still don't see the problems you guys are having but you get a 14 day change of mind on new connections and a 7 day trial if you get it direct from 3 on upgrade!! So whats the problem!! it's still 1 of if not the best looking and pretty much best function wise phone on 3g!!
more memory then the nokia n70 and the same camera!
Whats the complaints about again??
