Ok the bluetooth seem to be a real issue with this phone. I have two v3x's one on 3 and the other Vodafone. As previously pointed out by a few users the phone is unable to tell the mac or pc what services it offers ie Object Push etc.

I have been speaking to 3UK and I am hoping the guy I am dealing with (very knowledgable)for a 3employee will be able to get some feedback from Motorola about this. The problem seems more wide spread than originally thought...But besides the BT factor this phone is pretty good for a 3g phone it has shed alot of weight of typical 3g phones and I was also impressed with the email reader.

Anyway I will keep you posted as soon as I get some word. I believe it wont be possible to flex and flash this phone as was done with the other v3's as this is runnin a new OS's linux based so I guess a new compiler might have to be written..but dont quote me on that.

i dont know if its just me, but my bluetooth is very poor and is constantly not working with other devices, the sync software is constantly deleting random contacts, i cant add pictures to contacts, and messages are often jamming!! the music programme is terrible and it doesnt play some of my songs which are all just mp3?! is this just me or is anyone else struggling with motorolas dodgy sofware??

Ok, well i got to play with this baby last Thurday. It looks great, the screen is fab (as someone mentioned the plastic battery cover is pooh + the whole thing being plastic), But why the HELL do Vodfone have to put their own software on it!!!

Now I am with Vodafone and can get the phone on an upgrade. But can I someone how re-install the Motorola's OS back on it? I am a Motorola fan not just because they make nice phones, but also because of the OS!!!!!

I also forgot to say that its a cheap rubbery plastic phone, the v3 is classy aluminium, theres not one bit of metal on the v3x

They tried to better the V3, but have failed. This phone is massive when flipped open, bigger than V3, and its as thick as 3 closed V3s put ontop of each other

Well, I got this phone yesterday, and I am very impressed. I had a E1000 before and the interface is similar with a few tweeks, which I think improves it dramatically. Especially when it comes to the pictures. Plus I must say in real life it looks completely different.. much better. The main body is in that tactile rubbery plastic which is nice but I have been obsessively cleaning it, and online pictures make the keypad look rubbish but it is the metal effect like the V3. plus the screen is Really bright and pictures are crisp-ISH!! All in all I’d say it’s fantastic… and am impressed!

I also have a problem with Bluetooth, i can send stuff to my iBook which has internal BT, but when i try to connect to the phone from my iBook, it says unable to validate device!?

Sometimes when i delete text messages, it jams and doesnt recognise i have any messages until i restart the phone.

Adding photos to contacts has also been a problem with it often refusing me access to the contact after adding the picture.

The camera itself really does not look like 2MP, it is very poor compared to the sony camera phones with 2MP.

Any ideas would be appreciated, it sounds like Motorola just need to get a firmwire out sharpish. thanks

Sorry, did not read your post close enough.
Did you try Find Me after searching for devices from the Mac?

Still want to know what Mac model, OS rev, internal BT or external USB/BT dongle. Thanks! Dockmaster

What Mac model did you use that would not allow BT transfer of pics to V3x?

Did you try going to the pic and then using Manage->Copy as described below for the ringtone?

                                      hey peeps.

i currently have the motorola E1000 and i do want to get the motorola V3X BUT im just wondering if it suffers the same problem as the e1000 - 30 second video recording? I heard taht if you put a memmory card in it, you can transfer the drfault memory to it, and hence can record for longer periods? Could someone please verify it, as its the only thing holding me back from ordering it..

                                      many thanks
