My main reason for prefering the V3 range is the fact that I can replace the whole O/S and get the thing working again without having to spend an hour on the phone talking to an operative in another country who knows less about the phone than I do!LOL!
On top of that:
Great camera - love the antique mode and the macro mode for doing mini scans of text to send.
1 Gbyte storage in addition to built in memory
Memory compatible with loads of other appliances (with the SD carrier I use the same memory in my camera, PDA, Laptop etc)
Good battery life (upgraded to the BC70)
Ability to remove the storage without turning the phone off
Customizable look and feel with skins
ObeyMoto voice commands for handsfree
Categories for phonebook,
Phonebook stores complete outlook style profiles
Stereo music capability - useful if you have to travel light without the mp3 player
Great calculator and currency converter.

this phone is good but the colour on this phone are not good so i think i will stick to my n90

this phone would have to be the worst phone ever produced that battery life is shocking and very poor i had one and would never go back to motorola again had problems with the software alot crashing being sent of to repairs numerous times always same problem

my batt is runnin low very quick, w/out fiddling w/ the fone all day, just phone calls & txt msgs.
is batt an issue for this fone?
or is it coz of the gprs/3g that always on?
can i shut it down?

I can't give you side by side comparison because I never had, never will have a Nokia.
So I suggest you do some googling, I can however tell you about the v3x.
The external 2Mp camera produces very clear pictures and has various settings including the great macro mode witch improves detail capture.
Some people have problems with low video capture quality, but it can be rectified by a quick seem edit.
The internal VGA camera is exactly that, a VGA camera nothing special.
The 262k internal display screen is very clear and crisp, even in direct sunlight.
The external display is not very good but can display the necassary information sufficiently.
For those technically inclined, the phone uses a Nvidia GoForce 3D 4800 handheld GPU.
The design I won't comment on because everyone has their own taste, so go to a mobile shop, ask to see the dummy and decide
about the look and feel of the phone for yourself.
For features you can read the specifications link on the left.
Messaging is quick and easy and they are stored on the phone or sim (uses the phone 64 MB shared memory).
Finally data storage, when switched to mem card in connection settings the phone gets detected as a normal flash drive, no drivers required (Win XP). Micro SD (formerly known as Trans Flash) is currently available up to 2GB, unfortunately the v3x only supports 1GB. But this will be fixed by updating the firmware (not currently available).

Hi! I bought motorola V3x last monday Aug7'06
its a gift to my self coz my previous cp was samsung d600 its pretty cool actually but i want something new. well that's when i bought this amazing cp...its really really cool actually the design are unique the features are brilliant!!! eventhough it 2.0mp the pic.are perfectlly clear....thanks to motorola for making the Motorola RAZR V3x

You cant hide your pic or vide BUT you can lock the multimedia with pin code. Other will never able to access your video and picture.

i wanted to buy a new cell phone and i don't know wether to buy a nokia 6270 or this
i just wanted to know can i run microsoft office apps or pdf files on this phone ?

Just incase my previous post gets deleted.
To increase vid capture quality edit the seem 004E_0001: offset 4AB (quality "best" in video options), and change to 04AA = 04, 04AB = 00, this improves the framerate. (only works when recording to mem card.

When I take a video with this phone the quality is VERY poor. It like slow motion and the frames aren't continuous. Does andone else have this problem?
