yes the keypad on this phone doesnt work so well, if youre texting sometimes the letter you type in doesnt show, or it shows a different letter than the one you typed in, thats why i had to go back to nokia, atleast nokia keypads are way much better than this...

the motorola w231 is nice mp3 phone but just like most motorola products and their batteries,it leaves much to be desired. i don't see why they can't match their batteries to their phones' model usage. this particular model should have a stronger battery-life since turning it into an mp3 player would really be a high-drain power function. i hope their folks at their r & d department do their homework otherwise their just being paid for nothing. i wonder when will the day come when motorola and the other celfone brands can at least match the longer power of nokia batteries, which has the best batteries in the biz. sorry motorola but you could do better.

Yes you can change the casing of W231 to W230 and W230 to W231. Me and my classmate tried it and it works.

Now my only beef is that, I'm having troubles making 2.5mm headphones to work. I doesnt work fully inserted to the headphone slot. Only the right channel will work. You have to pull it back a little to make it work for both right and left channel.

I have this phone & it's a great phone. Somehow, the negative specs about it is that, it has a poor GPRS (because you can't even download some stuff easily). About the battery, GOOD LUCK! busted! after a while, CHARGE.. & CHARGE... & CHARGE.. & CHARGE... & Charge! Never ending huh? & it's a big big BADTRIP! I'm telling you guys. However, IT'S CHEAP! Probably, there are no perfect phones at all. thx!

i bought motorola w231 last nov. 28, 2008...after a week i've seen a blot on the screen, a small blot..at first i thought it's nothing to worry about but then as days goes by it's becoming bigger and bigger...so i brought it to welcom sm fairview where i bought it...then they said its lcd....but they couldn't repair it because they have no available parts...they refer me to semicon sm north edsa..but same thing no parts no repair it...it would take three weeks, a month, ar even more than a month before i'll have it again...then they refer me to motorola..my gosh....i'm tired of referring referring, referring.....my one year warranty was unfair...i have this moto w231 for only a month and half...couldn't you change my unit? i don't like motorola's service centers and motorola,too...i don't love you anymore...

I used to have a Motorola W230 and the battery life for that phone sucks, I have to charge it everyday. So I wanted to know if this phone's battery life is way better than the W230 or it sucks as well. Hope somebody can answer this. Thanks.

the w231 sold here in the philippines have completely different SPECIFICATIONS compared to what is posted here. The specs of the w231 here are completely similar to the W230. I suspect that they just change the external covers. Please verify my claim...

hey, I've got a Moto W230, which is it's predecessor, I haven't seen this phone yet, but on the specs I've read, it's no different to the W230, just the design of the phone itself, and it does have a 2.5mm jack instead of a 3.5mm, priced at only PHP2,000 to 2,500 or maybe lower... it doesn't come free with a memory card (c'mon guys! it's one of the cheapest phone in the market with an MP3 and memory card support! that should count for something!... don't ask for a free memory card on this one!)

anyways, I have no problem using my phone, maybe when you're trying to connect to the GPRS, you don't have the correct settings, you see, the W230 is somewhat only able to connect to SMART and not GLOBE GPRS, maybe this phone works the same? and about the software, the phone supports USB Mass Storage once you've got a memory card, it should be UPnP, that is, the phone installs its driver automatically when you connect it to PC with a USB cable...

hmmm... I suggest you read the specs and reviews on the W230, I just think it's just the same phone.

keypads are hard to press specially the # key. and when you are typing really fast, letters cant keep up with your speed. and sometimes, instead of getting the letters you want, you will get a different one. (software problem??)

i have actually seen this phone. And I can definitely say that i don't like it. The display is not that great. The screen, for me,is too small. I was going to buy this phone but when I tested it, i backed out.
