So, Tsepz, do you also go to car forums and brag about how your Mercedes is better than someone's Ford? This phone is half the price of yours, and if I use 3G in my country they charge me a dollar for 100 kb (yes kilobytes). The nearest wi-fi spot is 50 km from me and if I was buying a Nokia I'd buy one of those cheap ones with a flashlight as I could actually use that :-P

Fine Tsepz, you got me there. But the war has just begun. Let's see if Moto's new lineup of phones with Kodak's help can compare to your "ever-triumphant" NSeries phones.

Someone below quoted from the website, you need to decipher the marketing talk dear.

Spoke to a Motorola executive, this phone DOES NOT HAVE WI-FI, rather, it has VOIP (voice over the internet protocol)technology.

No, this phone cannot connect to a Wifi hotspot and surf the web, the only way you can do that is by GPRS, at the charge of the service provider.

Hope that puts an end to this "this phone has Wifi!!" nonsense

Yes they are, because nowhere days its about everything going mobile and being able to have everything in your hand and at your finger tips in no time. Even "Next Gen" gaming consoles are more than just gaming, they are on your media center and storage nothing wrong with development.
Now at which point did i say Symbian is better? If you read my previous post you would see that i had mentioned that Linux is a lot more Open than Symbian BUT not many care or need a OS to be that Open.
WiFi is VERY useful. Hotels, Shopping Malls, Restaurants, Office Buildings etc. . . All have or are implementing hotspots, and now that BroadBand is so cheap everyone is able to have a WiFi router in their home so WiFi is very useful and realy fast.
3G is also very useful if theres no WiFi hotspot theres usualy 3G and that also allows for good data speeds and allows for big file downloads,im even able to download 50mb-100mb tv-episodes via my Podcast client and 15mb-30mb Ngage games.
I don't use my N81 to show off although some of my friends are amazed by the Ngage games graphics, sound quality and multitasking abilities most of them own NOKIA S60v3 phones anyway. Like you said i use it as a PC and entertainment device, and for communication.

And to add emphasis, the truth is that people nowadays chase after the latest phones because of their cool feature sets like camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, etc. Whis are really not that important. Andd to that is the impracticability of those technologies such as Wi-Fi. No hotspot, WiFi = useless. If this trend continues, we may see many camera, PC, and music player industries being replaced by these phones and thus close down. The phone today is now more of a multimedia device, losing its real purpose as a communication device. Simply put it, phones today are more like computers than phones.

Heck, not everyone needs 3G, Wi-Fi, and any of those "extras" in their phones. There are a lot of instances in which simpler is better. Technology is not always the best remedy to satisfy one's needs. Dude, a lot of people today want the phones because of their "extras", not on the core functions of the phone. They just want to show off that their phones boast a lot of capabilities which they do not even know how to use. And if they do know how, they obviously use the phone as a computer now, not as a phone.

And Tsepz, not all Motorola phones have bad hardware. My V6 runs perfectly for 5 months now, and my older Z3 ran for at least 8 months before giving it to my aunt. She still uses it and the only thing ruined there is the battery cover paint which I deliberately destroyed to know the composition.

And if you say that Symbian still rules the software business in mobile phones, consider your days numbered. The Android will come and Motorola may use that OS to get rid of its problems for good.

                          Hautz
Im not saying my N81 is superior, although on a out-of-the-box spec sheet it is.
My slider is perfect right now but i know in general NOKIA sliders aren't all great,my old N80 had the worst slider ever!
Im sorry but i can't agree Moto is VERY well known for poor build quality, i know 5people who have had either a V3, V360, V3x, Z3 and V6 who have complained about bad build with in the 1st 4months, and the repair center also say the same that Motos have build, only manufacturers with great build are Eten, I-Mate, HTC and Blackberry.
I know that the Linux OS is a very Open OS, more Open and Customizable than Symbian, but most of us don't require although i wouldn't mind Linux on my N81.

to Tsepz, U said that Ur N81 is superior?I don't think so...my friend has just sold his N81 coz the sliding mechanism get loose.I myself own a Rokr Z6 n the sliding mechanism is nice.Although Moto lacks of some features, but they still lead in terms of durability.U see how strong the Razr series is.I know that Symbian OS is good coz they are supported by developers but there are a lot of things U can do in Linux which U can't do in Symbian.U can be the developers itself coz Linux is so easy-customizable.U can add a simple command to execute anything U want in your Linux OS phones...

Wow,you have given a rubbish answer and question.
Why do i want 3G, WiFi, camera etc. . .?
Well 3G and WiFi for fast web surfing and downloads when on the go.
Good camera? So i don't have to take an extra camera with me where ever i go,but im not big on photography anyway.
You can modify your software? So what? My Nokia N81 software is perfect the way it is for me,ive got better things to do than sit and modify my software anyway!
With 3G, WiFi, the Symbian OS, great RAM, good ARM11 CPU, Multimedia capabilities your lil Z6w doesn't have, etc. . . I don't realy need my PC except for when i want to sort some music or something but otherwise my N81 does everything else, and very well i must say.

                                  From Motorola,

                                  "Connectivity that Knows No Boundaries
With dual compatibility for GSM and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), the MOTO Z6w extends your wireless world beyond the normal coverage zones by enabling you to connect in more service areas around the world.¹ From the living room, to the local coffee shop, to the office, the Z6w lets you continue your phone conversations and Web browsing without interruptions by automatically transferring service from one local network to the next. The end result is a single device that functions both as a home and mobile phone, with fast and more fluid Web browsing and multimedia playing."

So yes it can browse internet with wifi. As for the rest of you hating on moto, get over it already.

Take that back you hater! There should be no discrimination in this thread! "Motorola's rubbish"...so very childish. Why would you even dare go here to a "rubbish" company's phone forum?

No one has realized the awesome potential of the Linux OS in phones...people are so hooked up in Symbian without trying to evaluate each other's capabilities first. Try modifying your phone's software...I can do it with my "rubbish" Motorola phone.

And to those who want those flashy 3G, Wi-Fi, radio, and camera features, ask yourself: "Why the hell do I want those stuff?" People today buy phones because of their "extras", and not on the CORE features of the phone. Nuff said.
