100 Moto, 04 Oct 2008USD360 is slightly cheaper than HK, which costs about USD$1... moreThanks mate for your feedback. I believe you must be enjoying the 2.4" big font, big icons in ZN5. I'm really surprised that you bought this phone knowing you always use 3G video call within family members. So with this, you'll have to compromise on video calls. By the way, how's the sound & voice quality with ZN5? Like me, having tried V8 & E8 and both have Crystal Talk, I've found V8's voice quality better. Did you notice other differences between ZN5 and the previous Motorola phones you owned?

There are some comments here at this site that you don't really have to pay attention to anymore as I've gone thru with that "debate-win-it-at-all-costs" thing. Just don't have to waste your time. Mark the encoded location and if you see it coming again, just let it pass. The man needs serious attention, so don't fall for it.

Stuart, 03 Oct 2008Hi mate, just found out that the ZN5 will be selling at app... moreUSD360 is slightly cheaper than HK, which costs about USD$10 more.

I just got mine this weekend...with USD$40 off for a six months contract, which I'll use anyway.

In addition to the comments I made earlier, here are 2 more findings...

1)This phone actually supports 8GB card from my experience. (Card is so cheap nowadays...8GB costs about USD$30 in HK now!)

2)I tested the panorama function, which works really great for a silly phone user/photographer like me.

Hope other (potential) users can share more here.

I do miss the 3G function on my Zn5(yes, my 12th Moto phone this year!), though just because this phone runs on 2G, does that mean it's a bad phone?

If you say fuel injection is a must, sorry, my 1988 Honda Accord still runs great without it!

And if everybody MUST use the most advance features available, does that mean "everybody" should use Windows Vista....the O/S which is known to have many problems?

I'm getting a mini-notebook HP2133, which I wish they would give me Windows XP instead of Vista...as I only use the computer for the net and basic office use. I don't care about all the advance features on Vista...which I probably won't know how to use it.

Should people with preference like me be respected? Do your parents or in-laws really use 3G?

              1. You need negative feedback ONLY by people who actually buy the phones and they realize that there are actual negative characteristics.
              2. Positive "feedback" is permissible by anyone who HASN'T bought the phone as long as it is really positive...eg. of the type "wow, the best phone ever", or "Holy Jes@s, I am definitely buying this superPHONE because a 5MP CAMERA like this will serve my COMMUNICATIONS needs better"!!!!!

USD 360 when they launch sometime these few weeks. The E8 is currently selling at around USD 285 in my country. So for about 80 bucks extra, I'll sell my E8 (1 month old) to a friend and get this. Gonna miss that morphing keypad and FastScroll Wheel.

By accident, I've got a chance to test the Crystal Talk technology again and my wife was impressed. We both were at separate noisy restaurants when I called her, heard all the "complimentary background noises" at her side but she can't really hear mine. Makes me feel great with this device.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2008Assuming that this is a forum, most people expect to read a... moreI agreed with your expectation on phone technologies especially for those who uses 3G in particular. Since this phone doesn't come with this feature (3G) that you are expecting, really, move on. Like I said, I'm sure Motorola would have thought of this when designing their model so if they decided to leave it out, there's nothing we can do about it. I know for sure you are not happy about this, I believe 100 Moto (owned 40 Motorola phone before) too as he's a dedicated 3G user (whole family using 3G), but I'm not. I don't think they (Motorola) will do anything at this point of time base on what we said here. jjsoviet is right, just wait for future models and I'm sure there will be one that suits you - if you still intend to buy Motorola by then. In my country, we have 3G network too and the ZN5 is launching this few weeks time, I'm looking at getting this phone and I heard the price is really reasonable. That could be the reason why they left 3G out, there's a possibility (my opinion) that they are eyeing to sell more using price factor, that's my guess. It's a nice phone though.

This is NOT the Motorola shrine where people can only bow to the grandeur of its engineerings feats. This is a forum where people can LEARN a few things written by people who KNOW a few things in this field. This is a forum where people's opinions should be accepted abd repected...This is the year 2008 and Japan is about to intoduce 4G phones so the omission of 3.5G (HSDPA) AND 3G`is UNACCEPTABLE! This is the year 2008 and a car using a carburator is UNACCEPTABLE regardless of the fact that a lot of people would not be able to tell the difference from fuel injection! This notion of progress is what humankind struggles for daily...and the ZN5 is NOT progress!...and I don't work directly or indirectly in any telecommunications field!

What is the point of all the photos upload capabilities if you have a really slow network. turistic places here have 3g, but no wi-fi everywhere. There is no difference in the price when you transfer data w/or without 3g. why motorola, why?
