to emma and others, the phone is only availible from o2 in the UK and on their site its £149.99 with a bluetooth headset and a apple ipod shuffle. Alternativeley you can purchase it for £99.99 by itself from any o2 store on the high street.

Wow! this is one amazing phone, and for only £99.99! The camera is fantastic, imode is incredible and the design relly cool. the only slight let down is that it has a 65k screen insted of a 256k screen, byt hey, nothingsd perfect.

Unless you can be bothered forking out £300 quid then this phone is for you!

I recently upgraded my phone, to the N411i which I really did enjoy having, until I tried to connect it to my computer. I have installed and uninstalled the complete software many many times, still with no avail. I keep having the same error message on the NEC suite that the phone is not connected, yet the computer says that it is. Please someone help me with this problem! Many thanks xXx

Hello, after looking at its specifications on the web I thought "wow, all this for only £100". But now I cant stand it: the battery life is awful, worst menu system ever, slow web browser and more trivial it has a rubbish alarm clock (you have to leave it on in order for it to work). However if you can tolerate flaws like that, then the phone is still good value for money as it has all the features of its rivals for half the price. Overall if rating out of 10, I would give it four or five, as it's a real hit and miss handset.

Got very excited talking to the sales guy about what this phone could do, but I found the setting up painful. The whole phone is somewhat bulky and heavier than I was expecting. I've been using a Sony T610 and thought that was text-unfriendly, but please!...

The ring tones are great, but at the end of the day (call me old fashioned) but it's just an alert to let me know I'm being called. So what's the point of a full beutifuly crafted 64 polyphonic ringtone unless the local entertainment is so bad you're gonna sit in all night and listen to the phone (how sad would that be?!).

I didn't like the little rubber cover on the charger port. My experience has always been that these become detached after a few months. Also (and this may sound petty), I hate the two-piece charger thing. Isn't this 2005?

The display is good, the colours are good, but I thought that the camera was average. A bit grainy and dark and no better than any other I've seen. The 'i' mode is probably good, but when I tried to activate it, the error message told me to contact an O2 dealer to set up the account which I was not what I was expecting to have to do.

After not too much time, I put the SIM back in the Sony and have returned the handset. I've decided to opt for the V3 instead (size, weight, style, etc.) and will let you know. For the record, i recently purchased a Siemens A62 PAYG having got to work and realising I'd left the Sony at home. The A62 is brilliant, if basic. Easy to use, good display, nice tones, in short, it does what it says on the tin! and at under £30.00 Including £10 air time is a steal. My point is, it isn't sold on gizmos and features. The 411i is packed with goodies, but I feel, at a compromise as we seem to have forgotten what the end goal really is. Good, clear signal and phone quality.

Well, I've been waiting for this handset since March in the Netherlands so, I ordered the N411i right after it came on the market in the Netherlands.

Well, the phone is now considered "low spec" compared to all the other new phones coming on the market, I would say.

Firstly, the design is a big improvement compared to my old phone N400i. A bit smaller and has the "high-tec" face on it.

The screen is a bit smaller than N400i or N341i and the quality is just slightly worse than N400i I would say. I personally like big screens, but that is the consequence of having a smaller phone I presume. Nothing I can't get used to. But the screen brightness is so much brighter than of the N400i, and I personally like bright screens so.. :)

I do like the desktop icons though. You can put 10 desktop icons on but I only have 4 on it. At the beginning it's easily forgotten that there is a desktop but I think you can also get used to that.

Next is the "Missed call" "Received call" & "Dialed call". You can store a double of N400i with 20 previous numbers of each, but what I DON'T like is that if the same number is missed, received or dialed, the number is clustered to one. So if you miss a call from couple of people you can't tell which person called how many times. I really liked that about N341i. So from N400i there is no improvement to my opinion.

One BIG improvement from N400i is the Alarm Clock I would say. With N400i, if you receive an e-mail during the night, the alarm clock does not go off in the morning as the screen stays as "New e-mail received". With N411i, a desktop icon is made couple of seconds after an e-mail is received, so the alarm clock also goes off which means I won't be late in the morning... haha

Now MP3 player. Many people seem to care about the fact that MP3 cannot be set as a ringtone. I do agree with that but for me, it's not such a big deal cause I often keep my phone on "Meeting Mode" anyway.

And the Memory is certainly not enough to use the phone instead of an MP3 player but I made up my mind to keep these separate for a while. Besides my black & silver Walkman MP3 player which I bought in the summer matches very well with the black & silver N411i so... I'm happy with that.

Another point is the Bluetooth. I’ve always used the cable to synchronise with the PC so there is no change there. So I use the USB cable which is included in the package. And also for the headset, I put priority on battery life, so I would rather use non-wireless headset which also comes with the phone.

One final point is the CAMERA!!!!!
Naturally, N411i is a megapixel phone and has quite a good quality for a 1.3 megapixel phone for sure. BUT BUT, compared to the N400i, the photos made in dark is absolutely terrible. N400i brightened up the room with its flash AND that stayed on the photo, but with N411i, it does brighten up the room, but if the object taken is more than 20cm away, it's pitch dark. I used to take many pictures in the dark when going out. So about this point of N411i, I would say I am definitely disappointed.
Well, I don't know about the other manufacturers but well,,,

                            Just to share my opinion!

I recently purchased the nec n411i i-mode and have had a couple of problems with it. First of all it says in the manual and on the spec you can download polyphonic ringtones, i have now tried to do this 6 times (from 3 different websites) but still haven't received the ringtone does anyone know why this is? Do i need to do anything before i try and download one? usually they arrive in a text format and you down load it from there but i've not even received a text. I've checked on all the websites for compatibility and they have all said the phone is compatible so where is my ringtone?? Does anyone know how to fix this problem? If so please email me and let me know as the manual is useless! Thanks.
