this phone sux!!!
i've had the phone for 13 months now and i've gone through 3 new batteries with it already.
the from (even from the time i first bought it) randomly switches off about twice a week and freezes on me all the time (when making calls mostly).
- i don't think the bluetooth can be used to transfer files
- you can only store a max of 100 videos and photos (100 on handset mem and 100 on sd-card mem even if your sd-card is 128MB, it can't save over 100 photos even if they take up 20MB)
- it's NOT an mp3 player, you can only listen to mp3s if you have an sd-card and they have to be under 1 or 2 MB mp3 files, plus you can only hear them through the handset speaker unless you have the headset which you can only hear mono through 1 ear.
- you also can't have mp3s as ringtones
- the video files (MP4 files) once transfered to your pc you'll *never* be able to find a codec to play them. even downloading all the mega codec packs out there i've only gotten audio to work and never video on my pc.
- selecting message from your inbox to delete takes hours doing one by one unless you choose ALL.
- also i've never worked out how to upload java or midi to the phone if someone could please tell me that would be appruciated.
buttom line is NEVER BUY NEC PHONES!

Hello People, the reason the BLUETOOTH isnt working is because the Bluetooth on the E616/E616V and alot of other NEC phones is JUST from the phone to the same type of phone (ie> 616 to 616) and only for calender contacts. Do some reasearch! I Dont even have the phone and I know.

This phone is crap it is not as gud as me cos i am da best it is so big its almost as big as my fat head id ratha pay sum dirty slags 2 suk my nips than buy this phone

this phone is nice but no blue tooth and infra red only 8 ringtones how to download ring tones i from india wats the gprs connections in the phone and its settings plz mail me

hmmm ppl me and da team is trying to upload java games from our computers to the phone NEC e616 unfortunatly there have been some trouble. If any one has any idea how to upload javag games to NEC e616 plz reply..and Abt this phone i had it abt for 3 motnhs i have no problems accept for 2 times were it just shut off when i go to midea player.....

it is a nice phone having very good clarity but there are no wallpapers and ringtones games in it gprs option is not ther in it how can i load games ringtones .by the help of blutooth also it is not working

this phone is bollocks and you should not buy it its a waste of £35 the bluetooth is fake.

I think that NEC E616 is an big and bad phone. Sometimes it wont turn on and sometime it restarting.
I have bought an Samsung E330 now. And it rules ;)

all round i think this is a relativley alright phone but there is 2 things that are really annoying me
firstly
how do you see and change the ringtones cant find an option for that anywhere
secondly
how do you set a recording as your ringtone

i dont really like this phone i bought it in november and i want a new phone now lolz...i decided i wanted to change to vodafone from 3...welll they dont tell you untill afterwards tht you cant do this beacuse nothing works if you change from 3...so if anyone knows how to help plz tell me because i want to use my net and recieve and send my pix...how sucky hey...sorry guys its the truth.

Sorry to say, the e616 phone is too complicated & poorly thought out, lacks any reasonable service from NEC, problematic, has software bugs, uses too cheap hardware within, unstable electrics and needs a few more years technical research to make it user friendly and reliable. NEC insider

UNLOCKING PHONE, i too had this problem. heres how to fix it. downlod all your files so u dont loose them , then go to menue, then setting and clear settings. this will free your phone for the 3 net work and give u mor options on your menu.... there it is ,good luck.k1

This phone usualy has software problems.while using it,the phone stops and the screen goes white.you need an original charger because using another one will not charge the batary.
