Hi.
I want to surf the internet and look at the website like MSN or Hotmail. Is it possible on this phone?
and,(I'm in the U.S.) can I use this phone in other country such as Japan when I travel? If so, how? Since it's a Triband GSM. Please help.

Go to www.nec.com and choose hongkong , you will have all software in English.
mp3 is very good and easy too use on this phone , you can put in the play list for 30 songs.
Any one know how to make this phone work on loud speaker (speaker phone mode)when you are talking on the phone ?

So u can use the software cd to convert the mp3's to what exactly so u can have your own ringtones?

Is there any way to get the L1/e949 software onto an i-mode version of the phone? I want to play mp3's as ringtones and I don't believe t-mobile supports i-mode?

Ok. I lurrve this phone. Simple and Stylish however I nearly threw it out the window (lol kidding) cause I couldn't figure out how to put MP3's on it!! Now I see there is a converter thingy listed in a previous post here which I shall try :) so good in that sense!!!

Thank you for the info about the amr converter. I must say tho, maybe its the way I convert it? But it sounds crap! I keep on getting loud static, and it sounds nothing like the original...

I have tried to set downloaded videos as ringtones but the option is disabled, any ideas why that is? I can set videos made with the phone as ringtones but no others. The downloaded ones appear to be the same format so I don’t know what the problem is.

u cannot use mp3's as ringtones, but you can convert mp3's to amr ringtones (which will be able to be used as ringtones) with a free program called Mobile AMR Convertor by Miksoft. google it.

Just got this phone. Cool phone except for one thing........ HOW. CAN. I. SET. MP3S. FOR. IT. AS. MY. RINGTONE?! I read it had to be an imode mp3 or something. Is there anyway to trick the phone into thinking that the mp3 is imode or whatever? Man this is the only thing ruining this almost perfect phone for me. ARGH

Ok, just bought the NEC 412i from singapore
great phone. bought it back to australia, works with vodafone here, EXCEPT no wap due to the phone being imode.
but what i want to know is how can i set up the MMS settings for vodafone? anyone have an ideas??
also, any acccessories for the phones? like cases/covers??

I purchased it from Exotic cellular (best price on the web). When you get it, you must reset it to English (it comes in Chinese). A sexy phone which draw lots of complements. Only -ve is battery life is short...or annorexic (it is thin, like a supermodel!).. Battery cannot be removed.

did any of you who have purchased this phone what would suggest i do as i am interested in buying this phone off ebay but it does not come with a warranty. have any of you faced any problems down the track with this phone? do u think i need one? thanks!

Yes, it will work with T-mobile sim as long as your NEC is unlocked. I did the same.
