New Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 leak confirms S Pen and basic specs

Victor, 14 February 2017

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be officially unveiled on March 29. This left the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 as the main attraction lined-up for MWC 2017. Taking that into consideration, it comes as no surprise that the tablet has been getting a lot of attention in the rumor mill lately. The device has already leaked in photos and benchmarks and received its Wi-Fi and Bluetooth certifications and cleared the FCC.

However, even with all that information already accounted for, there are still some blanks left unfilled. A fresh new leaks aims to do just that, starting off with a confirmation that the tablet will include an S Pen in the box. The accessory will, however, have to be carried separately as there is no convenient slot for it on the unit itself. Still, the Tab S3 might provide a good upgrade for people using older Galaxy Note tablet devices.

Another rumored development is the omission of an 8-inch model this time around. Apparently, Samsung will only be releasing a 9.7-inch one, effectively alleviating the need for any number suffix to the Galaxy Tab S3 moniker. A few other details have surfaced as well, like 32GB of built-in storage, Cat.6 LTE, Gigabit Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The tablet is said to be available in black and silver and as per previous leaks, it will be running on a Snapdragon 820 chipset, with 4GB of RAM, a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution screen, 12MP main camera and a 5MP selfie one.

Last, but not least, price is said to be somewhere in the $600 ballpark.

Great specs, 4:3 is the best aspect ratio for everything maybe except movies (I don't mind black bars). Snapdragon 820 - I prefer Qualcomm to Exynos, 2048 x 1536 is more than sufficient, also 4 GB RAM. S-pen - fantastic. I loved iPad but its limita...

Enjoy
