Let hope some China manufacturer would buy over Nokia brand & launch some Good Specs Nokia phone running on Android & sell it thru online Flash sales like Xioami & Huawei.

Knowing Microsoft; I'm certain the current Nokia Lumia phones will stop being supported within a year. And something about both hardware and software will render the current "high"end Nokia Lumia phones obsolete within the next couple of months!

AnonD-34979, 24 Oct 2014Your name tells it all, if you don't like Microsoft why did... moreThe day you realize there are some people (like me) who couldn't care less about brand loyalty and allegiance to an OS, it will be the day you will clearly see that when someone buys a Lumia and then states it wants to change it has nothing (NOTHING) to do with brand... It's the merits of the product itself.
You already reached a proper hint, if that person was anti-Microsoft then he (or she) wouldn't have bought a Lumia in the first place.
The Lumia 520 is probably the best all-round product the alliance of Nokia/Microsoft was able to produce, at it's price point it was a bargain and had a genuine advantage over it's rivals -- that's probably why the user bought it in the first place.
The thing is, CPU power just got much (MUCH) cheaper than when that Lumia was launched and now you can get an Android that performs just as well as any Lumia would for that price.
Why would anyone want Android? Well, for starters it's a more open OS, one which isn't shackled to a companies vision of how you must interact with a phone (Windows doesn't allow to change the UI outside of simple customizations, Android allows you to switch to whatever you want) and on top of that Android is an OS which always had app developer love (WP is last in a developers worklist).
Windows Phone may be getting better (which it definitely is) but it's the business model that Microsoft set for its OS that is setting it back.
As hardware got cheaper the OS efficiency became a lesser enticing selling point. Couple that with the shackles that OS puts on the UI and it's a no-go for OEMs (who want to say their "generic" phones are somehow different from the other competitor "generic" phones).
The top hint is how they are now forced to offer WP to manufacturers.
But then again, why think about the the issue when one can just be sectarial and just yell "fanboy" or "it's brand XYZ so it must be good/bad"?

I think this is a fresh start, Nokia unfortunately (and don't get me wrong I've had my fair few Nokias over time including the legendary N93i!) but since N95 they've declined and steadily lost market share, mostly due to not anticipating the growth of apps and the need to modernise their OS...
I think keeping the Lumia name but dropping the Nokia part is clever, it's a fresh start, I'm moving from Android to Windows next year when they announce their new flagship earlier next year, and I know it'll still be the quality product you'd have expected from Nokia all those years ago, but with the forward-thinking of M$...
They're the ones to watch in the future...
