That's the highest cost to manufacture a phone in China and various brands sell theirs with varying amounts of margin. Xiaomi just sells them for a lesser margin. For those who want to cry R&D costs, Apple spends less than 3% on R&D.
The patents in question are SEPs which are required to implement a standard to specification and absolutely required to be used by every manufacturer using that standard. The committee creating and enforcing a standard is supposed to get the license for the requisite parents and make them available to the implementers of the standards. This is prevent companies from excluding competitors resulting in unfair market. In this case, Ericsson has patents which qualify as SEPs which they are selectively using against companies that they want to damage.
Whats even more interesting is that we are talking about a country which gives absolutely no protection to medical patents of foreign companies. Many new drugs introduced in the market are allowed to be copied by local pharma companies and sold cheaply and they also make it tough for the original company to sell locally. Of course the original parent holder is still held accountable for any side effects etc caused by the copies.

Why not M... moreThat's because these companies are not involved in predatory pricing but xiaomi is they have their own miui.They are selling handset in disruptive way called flash sales.They are creating a storm in India by this way.Samsung are only brand Indians love that is changing because of flash sales by xiaomi. Now very much happy that no more flash sales nonsense nd black marketing.

Ericsson already has cases on against Micromax / Intex / Gionee.. Sadly Xiaomi decided to ignore Ericsson's repeated notices which made it very easy for them to getting a sales injunction (But the case is not closed.. it will now go on for ages till the resolve the issue..)

People who don't know much but come up with conspiracy theories:
1. Samsung can't be behind it cos Ericsson is part of 'Rockstar Consortium' which had sued Samsung. So they aren't exactly friends.
2. Ericsson hasn't made consumer phones in ages. But they hold patent/IP to quite a large number of technologies. So to use them you have to pay..
Xiaomi must realise that India isn't China where patents don't mean anything..

They are also selling phones cheaper than Samsung and are likely to benefit more fom this verdict than Samsung.

but it is difficult to determine if a case of rape is a genuine one or a fake accusation by a woman with bad morals. if it is handled carelessly, it is even more easier to destroy the life of a person who is accused of rape but has done nothing. which is why rape cases take a while to get solved, even in so-called straight-forward cases.
the woman may have had a bondage fetish for all you know (take fifty shades of grey). it is up to the court to look past the obfuscation and determine things properly.
