We Indians have the cheapest talktime or call charges compared to the rest of the world. Yet we complain about price increment of few paise (1 American cent=63 paise). No wonder we have poor network.
Airtel business will be hit big time by voip especially on whatsapp.
They have a right to defend their business.
Trai should address quality n not affordability in India.

I thought operators in my country were greedy but this... But anyway. Let's say they charge people for talking via Skype, following that logic some money should go to Skype too because they create and maintain the service (which is owned by Microsoft) and if Skype doesn't get money then Microsoft sues Airtel. If I make something that is free and give it away, and someone else charges for it, I have the right to sue. So I don't think this will go through.

Nonsense. I'm paying for this money scrapping idiots high amount for data and that too service has become worst. Lets see. Aircel is lots better. They offer 1p/1sec for USA like that. 3G too cheaper and can get same tariff plans. If this has been implemented then i will switch to Aircel from Airtel.
