Anonymous, 13 Aug 2009Nokia, ditch s40 and go full force on s60. Never fear,... moreYeah I kinda need to have this question answered.

Is anyone really happy with S40? My friend has the Nokia 5310, and she says the phone is just fine with her. I told her that the 5800 was out, but she said she'd rather not waste her money right now. So does anyone really like S40, is it just a "hold-you-over" platform until you get enough money for an S60 device?

windows mobile 6.1 is very useful. i don't know how else to tell u. can't really do all that with the iphone unless u had a stylus.

i feel like i'm playing a game of minesweeper trying to avoid all the sponsored advertisments as they pop up.

good move from Nokia. WM 6.5 is really good and WM 7 will rule them all but I still prefer SE Xperias with WM instead of Nokia phones with that OS

I believe Microsoft is trying to secure its position in the mobile market by working together with Nokia... In my opinion it's a wise move, seeing how companies like HTC and Samsung are opting more and more for other OS (like Android and Symbian)aside from Winmo...

                      Never fear, malware-prone mobile OS's.

Malware infection risk increase is directly proportional to SMUGNESS factor increase.

Erick, 13 Aug 2009This announcement will also allow Microsoft to maintain its... moreThat does make sense. They must be taking that advice seriously, due to their wanting to release Windows Mobile 7. But there are so many things to revise for that platform, hence the 2010 release date. Maybe the analyst's suggestion will give Microsoft the confidence to prove him wrong, and MSOffice for Symbian is 1 of it's examples.

As for the applications themselves, I wonder if they'll be priced and if so, for how much. Around at least $30-50 seems like a reasonable amount I would spend if I was an S60 device.

This announcement will also allow Microsoft to maintain its presence within the corporate market over the medium to long term in the event as at least one analyst has suggested that it decides to eventually exit involvement in the smart phone market by not designing further windows mobile should its share of the market decrease. This is a very unlikely scenario but in this industry its always best to hedge one's bets.

That's what you get for not reading the news and being stuck in your own little apple world.

Oh, maybe your phone is unable to load a lot of web pages that the cheap phones *coughs* Nokia *coughs* can.

                              Nokia sticks with symbian.

[deleted post]Yes, in a way, S40 is S60's little brother, incapable of multitasking and running estensive applications like S60 can. One good thing S40 now has is active standby, so I guess that's ok. But yeah, S40 and S60 are both Symbian OS.

This is a very good move by both Microsoft and Nokia.

Microsoft Office is undoubtedly the best office suite in the market for both PC and mobiles.
Love it or hate it, but no one can deny the fact that it is miles ahead in the software competition.
It is up to now the most efficient office suite available.

I do smell something cookin' :)
                                      Viva La Microsoft!

[deleted post]I like OSXmo simply because it's clean. It's all about aesthetics that drew me into upgrading (that and the fact that the Matrix Duo just hated me and hung on boot =| ). That's the only smart, valid reason to like the iPhone, or any product by Apple, because I use OSX simply for Creative Suite 4. I like using Apple for those reasons, but I will never worship the gorund it walks on, and I loathe all the people that do people that do because they give people like me a bad name.

When people try to spite other competitive products, they should at least have good facts, and not just complete bull. Just makes the game unfair for them (as you can clearly see all the responses to Brenda and her followers' spout of nonsense).
