[deleted post]"It's also funny that Nokia only came up with a 3.5 display touchscreen phone, proximity sensor and accelerometer after all these years :)"

        lol

Nokia had all this well before the Iphone, sorry but u need 2 learn history. N770 had a huge touch-screen (about 4 inches) in 2006 or something like that.

The current rumored N900 is Nokia's best to date, but I can SMELL that something even more powerful will be revealed @Nokia World '09.

Perhaps the rumored 12MP-phone, with the new OMAP36xx (1GHz). A good CPU is needed for processing high resolution pics (Pixon12 has about 800MHz), but since this will have a 50% larger lens (according to Carl Zeiss), it might need more processing power. We'll see.

hehe, nokia vs. Iphone, the war continues... Soooo off topic. I'm a Nokia fan but for equality, those bragging on whose best do it somewhere else. I think that if gsmarena puts up at topic of Nokia vs. Iphone, there will be 100++ millions who will comment. Haha! enough, off topic.

                  To main course:

A good move for nokia in teaming up with Microsoft. It's about time. You're scaring the a**es of iphone fans with this move. Hehe. Although they say that it's a team up only for some pimping of software, marketing, etc. well like a relationship, things could go the next level. Potentials could be untapped. Many powerful unexpected softwares, hardwares could be created and what a wonderful, astounding delights it would be for us all.

With the economic recession going on, maybe Bill gates would sell his bonds and buy some stocks of Nokia to boost up the phone manufacturer's ego once again. A partnership or a coup? whatever as long as it makes things better of the both (what a relationship!) (Nokia reported losses also layed off some folks, so there's a good corporate intercession to be made, Mr. Gates knows that, Mr. Jobs is watching although I know both have tricks up their sleeve)
Forecast? I think negotiations are on the way if not now, soon. Totally a corporate thing, just like politics. A smart move. Hands up to the both!

                                        To quote from you:-

"No serious phone user or business person uses the iphone...

...MMS, Office client etc. make a good phone"

iPhone 3G and 3GS can both do MMS with OS 3.0.

QuickOffice and Docs2Go are just two of the document editors available for iPhone's.

Hopefully Nokia is big enough that Microsoft won't just chew them up, take what they want and then spit out the leftovers like they've done with many companies in the past.

Getting together with Microsoft can be an invitation to disaster.
