as if u appletards barging into this comments section of a nokia-microsoft venture would change the mind of readers and convert them to use an iphone 3gs. LOL.

technology serves u, not the other way round. at least if youre some johnny come latey then have some respect to the established big players.

apple was spreading their fanboyism in the computer business before it came to the handphone field as well.

and i lold hard at the 'multitasking is crap' arguement. just like 'mms is outdated', 'who needs copy paste', and 'if need video, just buy a camcorder' bullsh1t of last year.

protip-dont get too emotionally attached to the company or to your stnking phone. just use it and stfu, let the sales ffigures speak for themselves.

fanatics. LOL.

[deleted post]Just curious why the almighty REFUSED to offer any 3G touchscreen phone until AFTER the release of iphone?

Figures don't lie, ___ figure. (quote from my statistics professor)

x million units of "smartphone" sold by the almighty brand? Or did the almighty brand simply put its so called "smart O/S into practically every single phone it sells? Even some mid-low end models are equipped with S40 platform.

However, how many "smart" people do you know who own S40 "smartphones" really use the phones as "smart"? Do they ever download any software into the phone? Or do these people bought these "smart" phones so they can make / receive calls / text / take pictures only?

Why does every forum fill with iphone/Nokia wars lol. I have seen by far more iphones than any other individual phone. I have never seen anybody using an N95 or N97, and never an Omnia HD. The truth is, without phone companies offering phones for reduced prices, those phones will probably never become popular these days. If Iphone was not offered for 200 bucks, but instead 600+ then far fewer people would have it. If N97 or Omnia HD or any other high-end phone wants to become known and widely used, it must be sold for much less by AT&T/Sprint/Tmobile/Verizon etc.

And also, haven't symbian phones been able to edit office documents for a while? I can't really imagine ever being away from my laptop long enough for something like that to be worth it. But then again I'm sure there are those people...

Anonymous, 12 Aug 2009Too many disunderstoodments. Nokia IS ditching Symbian S60,... moreAnd that's what I was saying, NOKIA isn't ditching Symbian, but they will move on to the open source new one, and will co-exist with Maemo.

Too many disunderstoodments. Nokia IS ditching Symbian S60, in favor for the open-source Symbian Foundation OS.

Open-source Symbian will coexist with Maemo, which is open-source as well. And Nokia won't make any devices with other OS:s (like WinMo or Android).

MS has finally realized that WinMo's position isn't strong enough, so they need to sell their software on other OS:s as well, and since Symbian was the most successful one (in terms of sales), they simply choosed it for that reason.

Nokia is the major mobile phone manufacturer in the world. Windows mobile is our OS(outlook and push-pull system) for business communication with partners. If two giant cooperate on the same strategy then I would like to thank you everybody who gave efforts on this project. This was my dream for along time.

[deleted post]Firstly, thank you. Secondly, I didn't say that it is so good that you can keep hundreds of apps running and consume battery life. I said that they can run in the background and I can use them whenever I liked to and still not close the other things. It is a great feature and I really don't understand why Apple doesn't use it.

Symbian can do everything the iPhone can do and a lot lot more than it!!
Go play with your iPhone kiddie!
