I know that Nokia caters to a wide market, but we are talking about multiple phones of similar capabilities and looks being launched with only a couple of months difference. That can get quite confusing and would cause some customers to get upset.

The iphone gets an upgrade once every year, and all of the iphone's firmware updates applies to all 3 iphones. of couple of months. I think Apple's marketing strategy is more effective.

So they keep releasing the same phone with different operating systems until they find one that doesn't keep dropping calls & crashing so you have to pull the battery three times a day? This company, which I had a lot of hope for before buying a 5800, is just pathetic.

I can see this being popular, although since the 3Gs and N97 the 5800 hasn't been quite as popular as it was. The navigation should swing more people it's way again.

I wonder those with the original Nokia 5800XM can change their product code and flash to this version, hence have free voice guided sat nav for life... Just a thought.

I don't get it. Nokia releases 4 touchscreen phones in a year with similar specs, and they all look the same. They just change the name a little bit, and put 3mp camera on this one, and 5 on the other, put a better map on the other, and put a better music player on the other one... It's really a cumbersome approach. Same goes to Samsung as well. I understand that they want different categories, but why can't they release them all at one time instead of an installment. That way the consumers can evaluate all phones at the same time then decide whether they want a music, camera, or map oriented phone.

Wow, this is a great addition to the 5800. But there's just one question:

Did you guys just completely SCREW all the soon-to-be owners of the 6710?

That has to be the case now that this phone is coming, because this phone is way cheaper, and the only good reason to get the 6710 is for the 5MP camera and slightly better processor. Still, I'd hold off your purchases for the 6710 until this phone gets released.

I liked the 5800XM but the new Navigator version is much nicer and I love it. If it can be as good as it looks then I'll definately get this phone. I jus hope the chromo around the phone is not some cheap plastic.

i think this phone is a great improvement over the regular 5800,faster processor, nicer looks, metal finish instead of that ugly plastic, and the phone will be fresh out of the oven meaning it will surely have the kinetic scrolling more than 4 contacts on home-screen and all that stuff on 5530 without any waiting for software update. So yea nokia has really used the feedback and improved the phone.

Too bad they didn't make it bigger. I mean I like my 5800 but it's kind of on the small side.
