Nokia are obviously getting really serious about their touchscreen portfolio. Hot on the heels of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, they have announced the Nokia 5230 - an entry-level touchscreen handset...

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2009You are wrong, when using the music player in conjunction w... moreActually OS-X is NOT Unix. It's a Unix like operating system, based on Mach Kernel. As for the iphone variant... it's not 100% the same as the OS on iMac, it is developed TO BE SINGLE-TASKING. For example, can you run a web browser in iphone, then open a game, then SWITCH to browser then SWITCH to game... NO!!! Therefore it IS NOT a TRUE multitasking.

Mach was developed as a replacement for the kernel in the BSD version of UNIX, so no new operating system would have to be designed around it. Today further experimental research on Mach appears ended, although Mach and its derivatives are in use in a number of commercial operating systems, such as NEXTSTEP and OPENSTEP, and most notably Mac OS X using the XNU operating system with the Mach.
        source... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mach_kernel

        For comparison...
        S60v5 is around 50MB,
        iphoneOS is around 240MB

i feel Nokia is having too many of the same XM 5800 clones, take out something and put in something.

I feel they should have a N97 without keyboard, not the mini.

If you notice, nokia didn't say that they were in phone bussiness as of now. They were saying that they were in phone business up to computer business. Any communication device that were mobile.

And because the market of computer and smartphone became saturating, nokia need to re-invent the OS lineup. Nokia would devine maemo NOT as smarphone, but as pocketable computer with phone ability.
