Anonymous, 26 Aug 2009That's right, nokia is a dinosour that being hammered by RI... moreThe problem is that Nokia is making TOO many models.
Isn't that what Sony Ericsson into trouble financially?
Too many models looking the same??
So what if the prices are all over the place?
The point is... TOO many models with different versions on hardware with different prices just CONFUSES the F*** out of consumers AND it's also a WASTE on resources (i.e. labor and materials and time)!
Focus on certain models for certain markets with certain features and Affordable prices and make the devices Stable and durable!
It's EASY making "Ooooo, what a great LOOKING product!" than a product that's stable, looks good AND functional!
Darn shame that many people, regardless of brand, focus TOO much on appearances and/or technology!

I comepletely agree with the post below that Nokia produces phones for different tastes cater to different customers in different markets and segments. The reason i bought up specs was since many ppl talk specs all the time and I feel the considering the price difference btw this and iphone, with this u get much better value and many features iphone lacks. Also evryone has diff experiences, ppl i know who have iphone havnt had good experiences at all.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2009Nokia is one of the old dinosaurs like SE and Motorola, the... moreThat's right, nokia is a dinosour that being hammered by RIM and apple.
But if you watch closely. RIM & Apple never took the #1 place. It just the journalist that make lots of noise for them. There were lots of user who try blackbery and go back to nokia, or try apple then go back to nokia. And that because RIM & Apple were profit optimize, they trying to make their buyer buy all the feature. Whereas nokia were giving a custom product. i.e here the 5800, you don't want wifi, here is the 5230, you don't want 3g, here is the 5530. you want thumb board, here is the n97. you want stable OS because you were bussinessman, here is the E series.
The thing is. Unlike motorola or ericson, Nokia did listen to their customer. When their being hammered by Apple and RIM, they make a change in their lineup.
And that's what happend now.
Although nokia market share being pulled down by RIM and apple, rim and apple never win the battle. once the nokia transition is compleete. RIM and apple will be struggling by the cheap device like 5230,5530,5800.

Bubby1116, 25 Aug 2009This is another crap from nokia, compromise on camera and W... moreNokia is not going for high-end touch screens which in my opinion is to reduce cost and increase battery life, so if my thinking is correct then its good to see a cheap device with large touch screen hence lot of people can buy it especially in developing countries like Asian countries.

zorkor, 26 Aug 2009oh no, not another Nokia 5800 ...when will you stop making... morethat's because some one might not need the wifi or 3G. If you were in a household of income US$100-US$200 / month, and your handphone is your computer, and you don't have wifi at home, and use at work use the office computer, you might not need the wifi. so, why would you pay the wifi if your not using it??
There's lots of scenario... beside that one. the point is nokia making a 'custom made' phone for everyone. It just like when you buy a car, some things navigation is cool, some other things that Automatic transmition is not a luxury item. while at some market heated seat is really a must because of the cold weather. point is, nokia really understand market, and not as gready as apple.

I don't really care wether i used open source OS or close source os. as long as it's a great phone/os I will use it. but when you said that others sell to nokia the symbian share because they lost on symbian, I would be defending that, because you give the false information.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2009Well, Don't say something that you don't really know. ... morewell.. you are trying to portray how great Nokia are by freeing Symbian while others do not and thus sell their shares to nokia. but seriously, do you think the profit Symbian is making is of any significant to Samsung Se LG etc.? those few million into each share portion is just immaterial. Look at the profits of Samsung and LG and you would understand.

[deleted post]if your iphone get suddenly hot in the clear sky I would suggest you put it on a floor (or grass) and go back 1 meter from it. It might explode.
Of course there's no evident about this because apple silence everyone with this problem.

has the designing dept. At Nokia run outta ideas?
And of course, has nokia EVER heard of a "capacitive" touchscreen? Because the touchscreen technology it uses is on the verge of extinction!
Certainly not something expected from the market leader!!
