Assuming these rumors turn out to be true, I expect HTC will be making more sales than every before. Nobody needs 4k display on a phone. There's no point coz nobody can even see individual pixels on a 1080p 5" display. So it's only for bragging rights. Besides, it eats battery life. I'd rather have a beautiful, quality built phone with competitive performance, than a phone with weaker build quality and loaded with useless features.

For those that is against gestures i suggest you look at iPad multi-gesture support. Its awesome.
For those with a rooted android phone and still running 4.4 kitkat, might want to try GMD gesture on the play store.
Although gesture will benefit mainly for tablet size devices, i bet there are people in google that can think of better ways of navigating for Android.
Anyway those 3 buttons are a bane of android now.

Have you ever used MXPlayer? I have the volume and seek set as gestures; up/down for volume controls, left/right for seek, and I wouldn't have it either other way. I welcome the future. Soft keys, I dislike, I prefer hardware keys (physical, capacitive), but the ultimate solution, for me at least, would be gesture based controls.

And why do we need bigger displays anyway... moreA gesture based solution will allow for a smaller footprint without any of the negatives that soft keys brings. There could be gestures for Home, Volume, Menu, Power, Screenshot, Recent Applications, etc. and each could be user configurable, sort of like with Jolla. It's the future, whether you like it or not. You'll see, mark my words.

At last htc has listened to my 150 plus comments I have posted here and there since the announcement of the htc's first dual speaker phone htc one M7, about the large bezel at the bottom than the one at the top. If they make both bezels equal and as small in size as they can,the screen would come exactly in the middle and the two speakers equa distantly on the sides.

They should have removed the black bar and leave the speakers alone. Desire eye already sucks in terms of sound quality (Typical modern lack of common sense: Make a pfone which is intended to be good at certain thing and then it actually sucks at that thing), this may be a little better, but still step back from M8.

iPhone provide both.
Samsung took the hardware path
HTC took the software path.
Its time Android change the gesture and navigation. The 3 software buttons is getting very very old and crappy... as ancient as android 3.0 honeycomb. (and honeycomb still have the best navigation)

I won't get another Htc unless it has capacitive buttons not on screen ones, I buy Samsung just for that reason.remember HD2 I've still got it lying somewhere in fully functioning condition, best design ever,

The source said nothing about HTC removing the black bar, only that the entire front will be covered by glass.

This is a total lie, I have actually seen HTC m9 in my hands, as I had a chance to meet a HTC developer, the phone is still using the same design language but its much more refined, speakers are still going to be same and the Black bar will still stay there, but I can tell you this, it will be thinner in width. so who ever tells you it will be edge to edge glass IS TOTAL FALSE !!! it will still be same design but more refined with square camera and no eye on the top.
