Deep space bar, 10 Sep 2009All the nokia's i've ownd i've never had a problem 6270 ... moreThe S60 browser is based on WebKit which is Open Source developed by Apple, Adobe made Flash for it which is developed by Adobe and is closed source and proprietary.

Adobe wants flash on every Internet accessing device on earth so it keeps it's monopoly of forcing web developers to buy their software.

Nokia obviously support these closed standards, Apple doesn't they are pushing for HTML 5 with open standards so multimedia content such as h.264 doesn't require third party browser plug-ins.

Nokia also support firmware customised for phone networks which add lots of restrictions.

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2009What??? Do you have to BUY seperate ringtones now? This is ... moreThe ringtones from iTunes cost $A2.19, to buy ringtones from the Australian Vodafone site cost $A5.50.

Then there are the premium content providers with their subscription services.

How much does OVI store charge for a ringtone?

Me, I make my own for free using Garage Band on my MacBook it takes a few seconds in Google to find the software to make your own free ringtones on PC's

[deleted post]They stopped soldering the battery in with the launch of the 3G, obviously you have absolutely no-idea what you are talking about and are just some Nokia sheep who read some stuff on the Internet and jumped on the "I hate iPhone" bandwagon, like a lot of the other losers who comment here.

Deep space bar, 10 Sep 2009All the nokia's i've ownd i've never had a problem 6270 ... moreDon't be silly. All phones have the same restrictions as the iphone, only Apple is strongly enforcing restrictions, the rest don't care if you lose your warranty. If restrictions are heeded, you will get better customer and technical support which explains why Apple is quick to resolve technical issues much better compared to others. That's because their phones are not tampered by their users. That's why firmware updates are organized and convenient with the iphone. That explains why the app store and the iphone is very successful. They have an organized and systematic way of distributing their products.

[deleted post]After almost 3 years, you're still not getting it.

We do not need BT file transfer. I don't want to give you my music and I don't want your music because I could get my own.

Apple does not support proprietary Adobe Flash, and we are doing just fine without it.

The iphone does not need full multi tasking. It works great without it, but of course we wouldn't mind if they threw that in, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Apple never dictated anyone to buy their products. If you buy their products, then that is out of your free will. The restrictions are there for a good and practical reason, and its mainly to protect everyone from doing what they're not supposed to be doing, like piracy, tampering, better customer support, better technical support, keeping warranties, etc.

I had a Black N82 nam version and a 5800XM...it's was the for me the best all-in-one phone but when i try the new iphone 3GS i was piss off at nokia! Why of why can't they offer a better interface and simplicity! Great battery life and it's slim! I have tomtom GPS and many useful apps! Shame on you Nokia...even the N900 is c r a...thick and heavy 181g! That's why i change for the better!

Oh, iphone is so good!! Its OS is better then WinMO, Symbain, Android and Maemo!!! I can't believe how stupid all the Apple fanboys are. Just the simple fact that the battery is nonreplaceble by its own owner tells alot about this device :-(

what does it mean to "unlock or jail break" the phone? Does this referr to sim card lock, so its locked to one service provider only inseat of accepting any sim card, or is this locked for any software thats not directly bought from the app store? So u cant install "pirate" or free applications?
