They emailed me full instructions. Its a complicated update and I am not liking it. Apps no longer giving me notifications, ringer doesn't work most of the time so I'm missing calls. Had to set my ringer to vibrate also so I'd know my phone was ringing.

i bought my xperia z1 compact 15 months ago, after upgrading to lollipop my battery charge suddenly downs from 60% to 0% and shutdown. i contacted to sony care and they did not solve my problem. i surely knew it is not battery(hardware) problem. Pls give me a solution to role back to my kitkat os.

I have a xperia z1s (T-Mobile) bought it last 18 month ago and the lately it gets really hot... has anyone had the same problem and what do you do to solve it? will changing the battery be an option?

Updated to lollipop and now major battery drain problems, do not install update, it wrecks phone, no more Sony for me.

After flashhing anyroms,drowngrade etc,,,i have found an ultimate solution about z1 battery drain and palpitate charging issues,,,go to the nearest sony service center and replace your battery pack to solve the problems,,mine just got replaced and its awesome,,work perfectly even im running latest 5.1.1 lollipop,i love my z1 again,happy here!!!

I own an Xperia Z1 Compact and i hav been using it for past 2 years. I started with using Kitkat and updated to Lollipop 5.0 and after the update the battery began to show problems. As the thread mentioned the charge suddently drops from 50 % to almost 15 % and then within a minute will fall down to zero and the phone will switch off. I thought it was a software problem and after doing much reseach in internet, i updated the software to Lollipop 5.1. But stll the problem was there and was getting worse. Then i read somewhere in posts to try to replace battery. I went to a Sony Service centre and within 2 days they found out that the culprit was faulty battery and replaced it. Now i am getting a decent battery life and my phone is back to normal. Even though i did not put on stamina mode and all i am getting a full day charge. ALmost same condition as it was when i had KitKat. smile happy
SO FRIENDS DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME UPDATING SOFTWARES. GO TO SERVICE CENTRE AND REPLACE YOUR BATTERY ! ITZ THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION. I CAN ASSURE YOU YOU WILL BE THE HAPPIEST ONE AFTER GETTING THIS DONE.
