Lollipop on xperia Z1 is the worst, Phone overheats, battery drains really quick, microphone does not work ok, the touchscreen does not work properly. I send the phone to warranty because the microphone and the touchpad were not working, Sony removed my screen protector, changed the rack of the microphone and reset the phone. they did not even had the decency to put a new screen protector. phone still getting overheated and draining baterry.

I had updated my xperia zl last night after tha update the phone has become a bit slow,and the phone heats another when kept on charging u can't even hold the phone......

just updated my xperia z last night..and you know what? my wifi is not working! it says turning on but it never actually turned on..oh my :(
and all the icons seems a lot of bigger than before..now I want to roll back to kitkat..

Don't update. i am using my xperia z1 and i was very happy by the speed and everything else. After i updated to lollipop last week, touchscreen is not working properly, all the apps are working very very slow. i better stopped using Facebook in mobile only because of this. screen lock is lagging everytime and homebutton is not working sometimes. Hate lollipop

Owner of a z1 Compact. After update to Lollipop the battery was half empty after 4 hours without the phone being touched. The problem was at least partly amended after turning on Stamina mode.
But I have a lot of trouble picking up the phone when ringing. The graphics appear but the screen does not react to touch. It's a BUGGER!

I use Xperia Z1compact. It was a good phone when using kitkat. But after updated to lollipop, i start to hate this phone, the clock widget become smaller after closing a game, battery drained faster, slow image processing,volume problems when playing music, and ugly UI... And why the f**k sony change Walkman to Music?!

I always loved Xperia phones and it was a no brainer when I came to upgrade my handset that I was going to go for anything but another Xperia. As soon as it came I fell in love with it....until.....I was requested to do a system update to the dreaded lollipop. My mum also got an Xperia, her first ever one since upgrading from an iPhone. She loved hers too and when she did the update she was disappointed and not impressed. I thought it was just because she had to get used to it again. No.
I did my update and I have regretted it ever since.
The battery drains a lot faster even if I am not using the phone. I used to be able to get to work by the time my phone would lose 1% of charge, where as now I'm lucky to make it into the next room!
The speaker quality has been dramatically reduced. One thing I loved bout this upgrade was it's louder speakers than my z1 but now since the update, the quality is shit! Not loud at all.
Overall I think lollipop was the worst thing ever invented and I wish I hadn't installed it. Hopefully they will get rid of this bollox and go back to the old system because the way this is going, I wouldn't really recommend anyone update or get an Xperia again! Shame!

I would think twice before updating. Cannot see any good reason. I have recently purchased the Z1 compact, as is discounted quite a bit now. It offered the update so accepted it. Like with the Z1 I immediately noticed issues, apps closing after a couple of seconds. The Walkman app has, even after update to renamed music issues with graphic equaliser going odd...and suddenly pumping out tinny music...until eq turned off. More bugs than your average garden plot!
None of the good things of lollipop are evident, like material design wallpapers, icons etc as hidden by Sony launcher and interface.
When are Sony going to rid themselves as known for software issues? Answer, the day they put stock android roms on their devices.
Samsung do a better job with touchwiz if one had to hack to bits android o/s.

Hate, hate,hate this update! I've had my z1 for about 20 months and have always loved it but since this update I can't wait to change my phone. Battery drains at a ridiculous speed, apps and games constantly close within seconds of opening, chrome will display a page briefly and then ask you to reload it. In it's current state, the phone is unusable for anything other than making and receiving calls.

I am strongly suggest NOT TO UPDATE LOLLIPOP.
Heating problem.
Battery drain.
These are the major issues in this update.
After updating my phone to lollipop, I have to charge my phone twice iN a day.
If you are usiusing WiFi or data, your battery will drain with in an hour.
So,please don't update

Just updated to Lollipop OTA
everything looks fine, no heating issues, no crashing apps, and the battery life is the same as before
on the other hand, no "close all apps" any more, and the Bluetooth is not visible to other devices unless you are on the Bluetooth settings page!!!
