29 April, 2015
According to Cyanogen’s CTO, both companies have different goals for software, and hence the breakup.

It was just a commercial agreement that had more disagreement than actual agreement.

I think it's the best for both, even though if I wouldn't consider buying the One Plus Two (stupid degrading invite system), now I definitely won't do it.

The One Plus One always had its version without CM (the ColorOS version that was sold in China). While it was hard to find stock of the CM version, there never was any shortage of the ColorOS version -- you could literally walk into a regular phone shop in China and leave with the amount of One Plus Ones you wanted.

I think that speaks volumes both of the acceptance of that ROM, the marketing practices of One Plus and the people who condone with those practices.

CEO of Cyanogen is Mindless man.He should know tht mobile sells by brand and hardware. Not by software(specially when its available for Free). Bcoz all the companies using same Android versions but Profits r different for every company.

I am a proud owner of One Plus One, speaking of the Hardware, I think for the price I pay One is the best device, "The best Device" on the other hand am using Oxygen OS for last one week, it was initially hard to move from Cyanogen Rom but after one weeks of time am good with Oxygen OS, which is very much close to stock android, I think no loss for One Plus but Cyanogen have really missed a good opportunity to expand with One Plus. Yu from micromax is a flop in India due to over heating, poor build quality etc. Cyanogen better think before you act, via One Plus One device you have reach global market around 1.4 Millions units are sold, so you have reach to 1.4 millions people in this one year with 1+1. Hardware+software make sense, Software alone doesn't make sense, in your terms Software alone doesn't make money.

Is Cyanogen's arrogance seems to be never ending. Confidence does not mean you will start underestimating others. Without OnePlus, thousands of users would have never used CyanogenMod. This parting of ways will affect both the companies, and by the looks of it, do more harm to cyanogen itself because of their over-confidence. It takes both - a good hardware and a good software - for a device to be owesome. I never heard any bashing from OnePlus, they just mind their business and strive to be the best, unlike Cyanogen, who think they are supreme! Arrogance led to downfall of some great companies. I used to admire them, but not any more. I will uninstall cyanogen and use Oxygen instead. Bye bye cyanogen, you could not get any cheaper.

Oneplus and Cyanogen should have stayed together instead of parting ways. Joining with Micromax to make YU Yureka was a very dumb move.... I really feel sorry for Oneplus

I agree that Cyanogen helped One Plus Brand to be recognised by consumers, but it's also the other way around, One Plus helped Cyanogen to be more recognised by manufacturers.

Arrogance speaking eh, why wouldn't they sell more than one device? If oxygen OS is even half if what they show, it'll suffice quite a number of users

I'm glad for OnePlus, McMaster really didn't appreciate their part in helping both companies get to where they are now. There is no doubt that Cyanogen was an appeal for OnePlus's product but to come out and say “Without Cyanogen, OnePlus would have sold like one device in international markets. Essentially they built their brand on the back of Cyanogen” is pretty arrogant. Good luck to OnePlus

Why Cyanogen still have this asshole CEO?

This doesnt make any sense. If One Plus didnt have Cyanogen it would sell international and then Cyanogen we want to partner with companys that work on global scale. Who is buying here who is drinking. Wow, the blame game
