Samsung acknowledges Galaxy S5 Lollipop update issues

According to Samsung UK, the company will soon be sending out micro updates to fix the problems.

My S5 started off ok but 18 months it slow with some simple functions taking ages. I'll move to the Nexus 6p soon - a Google specified phone built under contract. Definitely not the upcoming S7. It'll do the same thing - fast at first then permanent decline. Not again.

    My S5 is barely usable now after 5.1.1 update. Get it right!

      I updated to lollipop 5.1 and my s5 is acting up badly. It breaks down unexpected and resets itself without warning and my texting speed is cut by 70% I'm not that happy with this update

              while updating my Samsung Galaxy s5 to lollipop version
              my mob several time stop downloading the update due to wifi network problems and when I restart my mobile the network doesn't show in mobile what do please help me and give me solution

                Please eradicate problem that were created by updating to lollipop. People are facing great problems which can crash reputation in disguise. so safe it. Thanks

                  My phone seems to be at about half the bightness it was before . Its very frustrating . I dont like it . I am very sorry i updated !!!!!!!!!!

                    I've been a Samsung girl for years. One of the functions for picking this cell was for taking great pictures. Now, that I have the new update installed my battery doesn't last, and the pictures are hard to focus and when you do there is a haze in the background. I'm so frustrated with my cell now I don't think that I'll be getting this cell again :(

                      I am not sure what to do to get RID of this update. My phone gets so hot... I get warnings from it. Plus my battery life is also about 1/3 it was before. This heat I would say is not good for my Phone. What can I do ??? Took it to Verizon last week... they said I could either reset it to factory settings, or wait for updates? I fear if I reset to factory settings.... it will prompt me EVERY time to update....Which I tried to Avoid to begin with. But there was not an option to say NO, do not ask me again.

I also have a tremendous problem with overheating. Since lollipop installed itself. I have to check at least 3 times a day and make sure the cpu isn't too hot. It get's up to 104 often.

                          Horrible experience with the latest update...my phone DOES NOT WORK!!!! Turns off in the middle of a call, the battery doesn't even last an entire day and that is without being able to even use the phone. I was told be Verizon that I just need to deal with it until they find a patch for it...REALLY....This is the SECOND Galaxy 5 I have has because right after I got the first one and they did an update my phone crashed and they sent me this new one. Terrible product and customer service!! I will tell everyone I know NOT to waste their money if they want a phone they can rely on it is NOT a Samsung galaxy 5!!!!! I have been a loyal Samsung user for years until now....

                            AT&T pushed Lollipop onto my S5 on Monday... since then, my phone gets VERY HOT, even if I am doing nothing with it...

                            My Battery life as been cut to about 1/3 of what it used to do.

                            All my menu's now use White Background with Black Text - - which wastes an insane amount of power with an AMOLED screen! (and contributes to the bad battery life!)

                            I had to reinstall all my apps that were on my SD Card, to get them to show up.


                            I am not impressed so far.

                              I just bought my s5 a week ago. I like the phone a lot but there is so many issues I'm having that it frustrates me. I have the 32 GB on the phone not including the SD card I have. I have only used 183 mb on my phone, there isn't much on my phone but every time I download something it says "insufficient storage available". I've tried everything to free up some space and aim still having the same issue. My apps force close, the phone is really laggy and slow, it doesn't wanna play videos, I am not happy with this update. This needs to be fixed.

                                    The phone purchased in April, 2015 and updated to Lollipop upon activation of the phone. The phone overheats, especially when using the camera in photo or movie mode or when watching movies. I note that the battery life is quite poor too - lucky to last a day of moderate operation.

                                    The area which is overheating is on the back of the phone on the bottom left-hand side of the phone when you are looking at the back.

                                    The back cover of the phone cannot seal properly and it appears that perhaps the components in the phone have either bulged or, the cover has buckled due to the overheating.

                                    Has anybody experienced this with their S5 and if so, what are the remedies if any, please?

                                      I had problems by saying ~50 times in a day; check the back cover closing and heating issues, unexpected shut down, phone lagging and what not.... please consider this update in INDIA.

                                        New users of Samsung love their phones, then they realise after 1-2 years. This is why so many have moved to iPhone or other Android brands.
