I was so thrilled with the s5 after 2 years of buggy issues with the iPhone. I bored everyone around me telling them how fabulous this phone was. And then I started getting these crappy updates. I was told by my provider I had to download them or the phone would stop working.in fact I was on the phone with them fixing an issue caused by the latest update, when the new update came in. I was very reluctant to download it, but the tech assured me it wouldn't affect anything. It changed freaking everything. my dial pad is harder to see, my icons are smaller, I get advertisements on the top of my screen now, the screen goes black when I take it from my ear to punch a key just tons of annoying little things like I just got over with with the iPhone. I'm about to swear off technology and reactivate my old princess phone.

Canada as well ... freezing , saying I have no storage when I barely have anything on my phone . Getting errors saying this app has stopped working constantly.😠 GET IT FIXED !!!

Part of the issue is that I have saved a lot of apps to my sd drive. But every time an update comes it goes to the device storage instead of the SD drive. That fills the memory space, thus the of of memory error. I have to go back and re-rtansfer the apps to the SD drive again. Lots of time wasted. Is there a fix for this?

I was excited to get the s5 but now im not sure. I have 32 GB in my external storage that is free but everytime I try to download something it says "insufficient storage ". I've tried everything & Nothing works.

I was dying for Lollipop update. Its a long expected update for me. I am from Bangladesh. I got Lollipop Update in my GS5 Duos(UAE version) on 1st May,15...Got no major problems till now. Just cannot swipe full the notification/messages in the lock screen which I know lollipop provided. If anyone know plz answer about this. And, I think battery lost some lasting power. Otherwise, I like the changes. I hope every problem will be solved in the next firmware update. Wish you best of luck guys.

I just want to tell samsung that don't freak with people... we bought this phone paying a hand full money.... don't mock giving rubbish updates... my phones is hanging all the tym... i am not even able to paly CoC .... it just hangs.... windows keeps running... screen goes off.... lock doesn't work.... when typing it jumping up and down.... just rubbish..... Sammy know the hight of mocking ..... If i move u lose one.... just think about it.... millions are made of one....

When can we expect the micro update? It seems really weird that all of the sudden phone get stopped working which forces us to remove battery to resume again and lots of other bugs too like system UI crash, App force close etc..

Best Samsung firmware is always the one that come with the phone during launch. Subsequent updates has always screwed the device or it's battery life. Only thing that is better seem to be overall performance.

I have the S5. Before update i could put a call on speaker and toggle to other windows. Now I can still put the call on speaker but cannot go to other windows.

Hi! it's my first post here on Gsmarena. I am from Pakistan and I have S5 G900FD. This is a qualcomm variant which has dual sim option. After updating my phone from Kitkat to Lollipop, i have not seen any bugs(yet) however, the battery life has noticeably taken a hit. Battery drain is one of the huge problems for me. On kitkat, battery used to be longer but this update has messed up with the battery somehow. I do hope that Samsung takes some action to rectify this issue.

So, So true. One of the best posts I've seen on the subject. The sad part is that on the S5 Forum there are users STILL asking when they will get Lollipop.

Bad Lollipop on S5 G900F update, especially slow multitasking, hangs, consume much battery (compared to kitkat). Something that really annoyed me is "Unfortunately, Contact has stopped" always appear even i update it to the newest lollipop firmware.

And yet, if you look at S5 comments section, they were craving to update to lollipop then same ones were complaining a few pages after that.
There's a difference between normal users updating without knowing and those updating who got warned by others and then bitching here.
