both my phone and my husband's S5's crashed after doing the latest update. went to Telstra store where techs were inundated with complaints. we were told to wait for Samsung to issue a patch to rectify dodgy update. don't actually know how we will rectify the issues when we can't access the phone and the battery drains so fast. Also note how fast the phone heats up which is a worry. phoned samsung and they could not fix over the phone despite trying several attempts at factory reset. will have to send our phones to samsung to rectify. extremely angry and frustrated at the inconvenience and the loss of data

Im am glad its not just me. Running a Telstra (AU) handset. Upgraded this morning. Internal device storage is constantly running out of disk space. Hit recovery mode twice and blown the device away and it still happens. What a joke. Obviously a problem with the update. I am over it too

As I can't use the phone with battery draining twice in last four hours, I can't actually use the phone! Fixed update or not, it will e hard to use on a phone that is unable to work.

Samsung have acknowledged the bug.. My Galaxy S5 crashed from the minute I installed the update. Ended up having to do a factory reset after using Samsung's Smart Switch to backup everything not on the SD card.
Lady on the internet chat said their techs were working on a patch.

had 8 s5s in today, all are fried from latest update. Cannot even get a ping response from handset

Hi, Alli. The problem you are facing cannot be fixed over the phone or chat. The service centre needs to reflash the software on the device to get it back up and running. The reflashing is free of charge.
I live 3 hours from the nearest service centre.

Not sure what to do with S5 as im shattered less than 12 months old.

Froze up today I hit the restart and it froze on the start up page. Now I can not get it to even attempt to start up. Lost a bunch of pictures I hadn't transfered yet. Very frustrated, phone is less than a year old.

After the recent update I noticed my Samsung Galaxy S5 was running very slow. I was super happy to see another update last night 30/5/17. After the android update I received a notification that the download had failed and to notify Samsung. Then the notifications began, one after the other that each app was not responding as the phone heated up. I switched it off to cool it down but now it wont start up it only flashes Samsung continuously and heats up. The only way to stop it is to remove the battery. I am broken hearted, it has been an excellent phone, never missed a beat until this update fried it 😢

GOING BACK TO IPHONE! I got talked into this Samsung Note 5. It updates about every 2 weeks. Now some Samsung VR keeps trying to launch. Lost several text messages that I needed to keep. The light doesn't work so I have no idea when I receive a message. All my text tones are gone. The battery won't hold a charge. What a piece of Sh** this turned out to be.

This is awful! It started my phone wouldn't wouldn't let me answer calls. Iowa had to reset my phone, and that worked most times.
Now yesterday morning, only one charger would work to charge my phone! Even using the one cable on my portable backup won't work! My Samsung car charger won't charge my phone.my cable in the laptop and computer sub doesn't work! I don't know what I'm going to do, my phone doesn't hold a charge for a. Day.

After the last update I have lost my contacts, I had them backed up via Google however it has synced but still have a fraction of my contacts. Also cannot pick up my work emails and have to manually update all Hotmail? ??
